The future, what will it hold for us?

I don't think it's that far off, especially with computers to do the hard work. I wouldn't be surprised if there's children alive today that will live to 200.

The future, what will it hold for us?

Yeah same shit from Strange Days, or a number of other stories. This will probably happen, but likely a few decades after really good sex robots are possible. I still think basic economics works against sex robots though.

I've seriously lost like 150 limited rating since FRF came out on MTGO. This set fucking blows, that whole pack is filled nothing but bombs and garbage.

The future, what will it hold for us?

Yeah, but if it were legal and safe and regulated it would be a lot more common/more of a viable occupation.

The future, what will it hold for us?

I meant robots vs prostitutes, not actual girlfriends.

The future, what will it hold for us?

If prostitution were safe and legal, at the high end you'd probably have situations like in Firefly where in-demand companions had their pick of clients vying for their attention rather than the other way around, which would address some of your compulsion concerns, Cad.

Yeah but girls will also do the girlfriend experience. Who will do it better and at a lower cost?

The future, what will it hold for us?

That's part of what I'm saying too. I don't think sex bots would even compete very well with VR sex with a real person.

The future, what will it hold for us?

I'm just saying out of the subset of people who would pay money for a sex object specifically so that they can abuse it, I doubt those people that would get much pleasure out of abusing a robot versus the real thing if both were comparable prices in a world where humans were competing with...

The future, what will it hold for us?

How many assholes love kicking their dogs? I definitely think sexbots, if they're good enough, can have their place in the market, but demand for the real thing will always be high. Especially if we're talking about the evil shit.

The future, what will it hold for us?

Our non-renewable energy consumption is very quietly going down at a pretty good rate and the rate of the downward trend is escalating. As for food, there's tons of very efficient ways of feeding a lot of people that we haven't explored. Bug farming for one. Just reprocess that bug meat...

The future, what will it hold for us?

Yeah I think virtual reality porn and/or live interactive VR prostitution probably has huge potential, way more than sex bots. VR prostitution is just an evolution of phonesex lines.
  18. Mist

The future, what will it hold for us?

If we're going to talk about the darker side of prostitution, I don't think people will get enough satisfaction out of abusing and degrading a robot. People will always be willing to pay a premium to abuse a real person.

The future, what will it hold for us?

I agree with a lot of this, but I don't see entertainment ever getting to be larger than say 20% of the economy, but that's a huge gain from the <5% it is now. The whole thing about being an entertainer is that you entertain a lot of people at a time. It's another reason why I think the idea...

I haven't put out anything you could call a particular idea. The closest thing I even got to making a real point is that when you create an atmosphere that's overtly hostile and suspicious of real rape victims, all you're going to get are fake rape victims.

What the fuck are you even talking about? You're the one that tried to make the case that legalized prostitution would reduce rapes, the burden of demonstrating that is on you.

I don't think legalized prostitution would lower incidents of rape at all. It's not a case of substitute goods. Still in favor of it.

I'm definitely 100% in favor of legalized prostitution, so long as it's safe and at least marginally regulated. That said, in the reality of shitty.cops.US, the protection racket for prostitutes would just move from pimps to cops.

I've put out what side of the equation my biases are one. I'm just trying to get people to willingly and explicitly admit their own biases. When topics of race come up, I'm the first one to admit that I'm kinda racist. I just think people should be honest about their biases instead of...
