just finished the first season. I love how serious this show is but something about how the writers constantly remind the viewers that everything sucks got almost repetitive. Plus the dour end to the first season is a bit depressing and the show, in general, hasn't had any big 'holy shit'...

Good setup episode. I really wish they showed Hanks' reaction to when Jesse told him they were 10 meters away when he shot Tuco, or what really happened with Hank's assassination. Also I was disappointed that the reason Jesse didn't light the place up was Huell lifting Jesse's lighter.

Thanks for the info. It's really hard to make sense of any of this without diving into conspiracy theories. I can't think of any events like this where occam's razor points to conspiracy so clearly.

And unless I'm mistaken it's not like this was a precision strike in Assad's backyard. They could've gotten a sophisticated delivery system and just mucked with it until it kicked off.

How do you think they used a plane to gas them? Personally I don't have much faith in an untrained villager's ability to know whether a plane was used to gas them, but that's just me.

Here's another hypothetical that is as likely as the one you give: What if the rebels used the gas in the first place, congress votes yes, Obama follows through and we bomb some Syrian regime assets, then the war continues and when the rebels are losing again they use another gas attack?

What's the path to the least amount of lives lost in Syria? Imo, it's for the rebels to see that the international community isn't going to help them and for them to give up.
