Manager wanting to change work hours on you -- what to do?

So I've worked with this company going on 6 years now. A few months ago they changed their support hours of operation by 2 hours earlier and 2 hours later. They have hired new support staff that agreed to work in either of two shifts. The guys in our department are a "second tier" level of...

    Buying a car?

Just me. So, again, only one car would be in use at any given time.

Hell no. Worst we get is a hurricane once a decade.

    Buying a car?

In this case, both vehicles have the approximately the same value (08 Mustang GT and a new 2014 Fiesta). So, in my mind insurance should stay about the same. Not fucking double. EDIT: Well, a friend brought up a good point. What if some natural disaster hit and took out both vehicles...

    Buying a car?

Actually, after thinking about it some more, this doesn't make sense. Isn't insurance based off of the probability of getting into an accident and the company having to fork over whatever? Well, having to pay twice the insurance is suggesting that if I get into an accident it will somehow...

    Buying a car?

UGH...called my insurance asking about adding a 2nd vehicle. It's simply whatever the insurance is for the new vehicle + the old vehicle -- essentially double what I'm paying now. Oh, well, forget that idea.

    Buying a car?

Here's a hypothetical question about car insurance. Say I drive a sports car as my daily driver. I pay whatever a year for my insurance. If I were to purchase a commuter vehicle (like a Honda Fit or something but keeping the sports car) - would my insurance go up or down? I thought I read...

    Underrated science fiction movies

Oh, don't think anyone has mentioned this one butA Man From Earthis good. It's mega low-budget as it's just a handful of people in a house having a chat. But it's very interesting.

    Buying a car?

I think I'd opt for a Ford Fiesta, Mazda2, or Kia Rio before I would consider a Versa. I think I recall reading a terrible, terrible, review of the new Versa Sedan. Extremely cheap quality-wise.

    Buying a car?

Have any of you guys had dealings with Carmax? Any good/bad experiences? I'm in the market for a used vehicle and really don't want to deal with getting a mechanic to check the car over to avoid getting screwed. Carmax seems like a pretty safe route to go. Their prices are kinda meh...

    Underrated science fiction movies

You know, I think I'll addOblivionto this list. I went back and re-watched it since I wasn't really paying much attention the first time. The visuals and soundtrack are exceptionally good. The attention to detail for the audio effects I thought was brilliant -- the drones were extremely...

    What vehicle do you drive?

I've actually considered a Miata. The newer ones look far more masculine than older models but I'm not real sure about the reliability.

    What vehicle do you drive?

I've been thinking trying to find a low-mileage Civic Si -- somewhere between the years 2008 to 2011. Getting close to 80,000 miles on the Mustang. I want to keep the Stang and get something else as my daily driver -- but it'll have to be something fun otherwise I'll probably find myself still...

    What vehicle do you drive?

2008 Mustang GT, 5-speed manual. Bought brand spanking new during the financial crisis for $23800. I've added Boomtube muffler-deletes, Ford Cold-Air Intake, and Bama 93 octane tune.

    JL: The Flashpoint Paradox.

The movie was pretty darn violent. Seeing Wonder Woman behead Aquaman's wife and kill a child was disturbing.

Has this whole new 52 thing not been well received? I honestly haven't followed comics in quite a few years. I think I stopped around Infinite Crisis.

    Gaming on Linux for n00bs

Doesn't OpenGL have less visual effect features than DirectX? When I used to mess with Windows-on-Linux gaming, admittedly years ago, there was a definite visual quality difference in favor of Windows.

    Siberia - NBC

Only two episodes so far, but as a Blair Witch fan (original, anyway) I'm really digging this. Definitely has a Lost meets Blair Witch vibe. I hope the production costs were low enough so NBC won't care about ratings too much.

    chrome or firefox?

Firefox on Windows, Chrome for my Linux boxes/VMs. Two must have add-ons for Firefox that don't exist (as far as I'm aware) for Chrome: Speeddial and DownThemAll. Big annoyance with Chrome-- when you download a file that big ass toolbar thing appears at the bottom. Fucking can't stand...
