Randomly saw an episode. No idea what's going on but I laughed - Tobey McGuire's Bush impression is more than decent and who knew Haley Joel Osment was still acting. Anyone seen the whole thing? I'm thinking of trying to find the whole mini-series now.
It is pretty clear from the landmark thread that anything difficult in eqn will be immediately nerfed to easy mode as soon as two people complain. I would set your expectations low.
Where is OT/DT?
Also, the interesting combos aren't set up by a dev for a single class, but ones players come up with on their own.
in other words simple distinct class abilities are better than a five step single class combo.
So reviewing the Shroud of the Avatar site and crowdsourcing concept have lead me to the conclusion that had someone competently managed the project, Brad & Co., could have delivered a MMORPG with much less than 8 million.

Lol. Gotcha. I think I'll donate for access for Release 4 (@Treesong - Thanks for the info) I don't like skill based MMOs, but this is only sorta an MMO.
As usual, Brad isn't running things right:
He could have sold the forum if he did it properly - something like the following:
1. State what he's doing: "Hi guys, we're opening a pay-to-play forum."
2. State why he's doing it: "Because we didn't make/aren't gonna make our kickstarter...
Yep. Pulled my pledge. A new "old school" mmo will happen - eventually - but it won't be coming from this crew.
Brad did not learn the key lesson of Vanguard. He is not a good project manager and should stick to design.
Weekly reminder: if you are a fan join in the emu effort. I believe the devs hope to eventually make a new client. Right now though, they need data, lots and lots of data.
Smed can't be trusted to keep his promises, Brad can't be trusted to manage MMO development. Slightly different issues. Smed needs to go and Brad needs to be working under/for a competent producer.
I bought into the eqn hype at SOE live, but came to my senses. Storybricks may be uber but...
No. That's why insurance was cheaper for healthy people before they were forced onto Obamacare. That's why the employer mandate was illegally extended. Because democrats didn't want 40 million healthy people to realize they have been conned before midterms. Did you not read anything about...
it was never going to work. Obamacare relies on healthy poorer young people subsidizing the health care of unhealthy richer old people. Unless you are a baby boomer you should be outraged.
Socialism is great until you run out of other people's money. Venezuela's socialist experiment is going down in flames as we speak. California's too, albeit more slowly.
You and Burnbaby are welcome to explain how we are going to pay for and staff these unidentified yet apparently awesome...
Are you high? If a Saudi woman reports rape in Saudi Arabia she will get blamed for it and very well might get executed by a male relative in an honor killing.
Fucking autocorrect.
@Kruegan. Obamacare is worse than what it replaced. So yeah bring back the old and busted. Better than the new and totally fucked.
Looks to me like you're trying to change the subject. Unable to defend your weak sauce philosophy?
@Tuco I don't have to humor anyone except myself and I am enjoying the chum in the water very much, thank you.
If we go all fascist like you and the rest of your ilk want, the sky is the limit. If Norway can emulate Kubrick, I don't see why the US left can't turn America into Brazil (the movie, not the country - fucking words, how do they work again Tuco?)
More places than you, that's for sure. Haven't been to Norway but if I get the urge to go all Hannibal Lecter it would be at the top of my places to dine list.
