Certain Kirac Missions have an enchantment/implicit "Areas can contain capturable harvest beasts" and they have a ton of beasts more than normal, like 10-12 usually. Just doing one randomly while trying to complete my atlas without any points specced into it, I got one beast worth a divine...

I don't think any top tier strategy has emerged yet, just from tracking the prices of scarabs. Strongboxes are still good, but requires expensive scarabs. Just play what you think is fun.
