    Comic Books

Death of Superman at the time being the best selling comic of all time definitely lead DC down the rabbit hole of doing what they did with Batman and Green Lantern. Then add in Marvel doing the multiple variant covers thing and Image in particular doing all the silver/gold/platinum covers and...

    Lets talk about our dads

Interesting to see so many neutral or even negative stories about people's fathers in this thread. Makes me think about my dad breaking out the fungo bat and doing infield drills with me and my friends or taking me and my brother out fishing and hunting all the time. Always appreciated it, but...

NBA 2020-2021: The Dubs Empire Strikes Back

Not talking about taking a 3. Talking about not going for easy layup/dunk type shots and posting up guards and stuff, easy around the rim baskets.

NBA 2020-2021: The Dubs Empire Strikes Back

I really don't understand how someone with as much ability is that dude has just has no desire to basically ever be aggressive on offense. It's totally mind boggling.

I mean even with the 2 way play I don't think he's better than Trout, but yeah you'd think they'd do something with it.

    Comic Books

Claremont/Byrne Xmen run is the pinnacle of comics as far as I'm concerned. Diamond Comics are dogshit and shifting to a different distribution is all upside.

    The Matrix Resurrections (2021)

I like the early HP movies fine but I think Fury road is a classic. It's simple, but that isn't always bad. It just feels a lot like someone saying they'd rather have a five guys burger over a ribeye steak from a high end steak house.

    The Matrix Resurrections (2021)

I mean I get that movies are a subjective thing, but this totally blows my mind.

    Loki

I mean there was a significant change in tone with Ragnarok. They went from being mostly serious to being GotG style silly and it was a good improvement to the character. Hemsworth has better comic timing than you'd think and it worked out rather well.

    The Matrix Resurrections (2021)

Ok so you're on the record now saying that Harry Potter is better than Fury Road and Sicario.
  15. Sterling

    The Matrix Resurrections (2021)

My list was post rotk, not post Matrix, i know it's just a few years difference but you'd be including a few more movies on the list at that point including those LotR movies. Again my list didn't include comedies or Comic movies which obviously have been a huge part of cinema in the last...

NBA 2020-2021: The Dubs Empire Strikes Back

He couldn't be as efficient as he usually is because of the volume he had to shoot with Harden being on 1.5 legs, Harris being shit this series, and no Kyrie. I still think the Bucks coaching is pretty shit.
  17. Sterling

    Loki

Thor 2 was mediocre and bland. Captain Marvel was aggressively shit.

    The Matrix Resurrections (2021)

So Sicario, Fury Road, Bladerunner 2049, The Departed, Inception, The Social Network, Wolf of Wall Street, Edge of Tomorrow, There Will be Blood, History of Violence, and Munich all came out after RotK so are either woke trash or indi. This list doesn't include any comedies or superhero movies...

    The Matrix Resurrections (2021)

Sicario was 2015, Fury Road was 2015, Bladerunner 2049 was 2017. I don't think any of those are particularly safe movies.

    The Matrix Resurrections (2021)

There's been plenty of good movies since then and there's always been lots and lots of shit movies. One noticeable thing that sucks is that there really aren't many original mid budget movies anymore. Most movies are either giant blockbuster movies or small ones without much in between.

He's basically unstoppable around the rim. Dude can score 40+ every night against this soft interior. Makes no damn sense.

    Lets talk about our dads

My dad is great. He's in his 70s now. He joined the Air Force as a Combat Controller during Vietnam and sustained a serious training injury that required many surgeries. Instead of collecting disability he stayed in, rode a desk job and eventually retired 20+ years later. He met and...

    Loki

I can't quite get there with this. I feel like Black Panther is definitely in the lower tier of MCU movies, but it has some moments and I mostly like Bozeman on screen while Larson just sucks and Captain Marvel has basically nothing going for it.
  28. Sterling

    Loki

Even IM2 and Thor 2 were only mediocre by MCU standards. Honestly, the only MCU movie I'd consider actually bad is Captain Marvel.

    The Matrix Resurrections (2021)

I mean I'm not going to take one random opinion as meaning very much, but some movies are much more divisive and polarizing than others.

NBA 2020-2021: The Dubs Empire Strikes Back

Not sure it's enough of a savings to give up a mid 1st, but the idea is sound. Also, they're getting Moses Brown in the trade and that's a thing.

    Loki

Yeah, this show has been fun. Falcon and WS had some good moments, but was full of trash to go with it. Loki has for sure been the best of the 3 shows so far to me.

    Indiana Jones 5 (2020)

There's definitely some dumb shit in Temple. Like stuff that seems like it's aimed at kids, while there's some crazy stuff that really isn't, but it's a reasonably well put together movie that's actually entertaining and fun to watch. And thematically it fits with the other 2 movies much...

    Loki

like 300 mph. Like I said in my previous post it would basically be a hurricane sized tornado which would basically totally wreck everything. Obviously, that's the point, but you could just say it's a historic storm and not label it as cat 8 or whatever.
  36. Sterling

    Indiana Jones 5 (2020)

Yeah, I always enjoyed Temple. Saying it's the worst of the original 3 isn't really an insult. Raiders is an all time classic and 3 was excellent. Temple is like an 8/10 kind of movie for me and I've probably watched it 20+ times in my life.
  37. Sterling

    Loki

I mean obviously comic shows/movies are going to have some wild shit, but there has to be some level of reality to ground things. A cat 8 hurricane would basically be a tornado that's hundreds/thousands of miles wide. I mean it's not really a big deal, but it was definitely a bit of a jarring...

    Indiana Jones 5 (2020)

How can you possibly hate on Short Round? Temple being the worst of the original trilogy doesn't make it bad. Lets not make it out to be the Godfather 3 of the series.

NBA 2020-2021: The Dubs Empire Strikes Back

Durant had a monster game for sure, holy shit. Giannis gets 34 on 14/22 shooting and has 12 boards and that just looks pedestrian compared to durant's line. 49! on 16/23, 4/9 from 3, 13/16 FTs, 17 rebounds and 10 assists. What the actual fuck is that.
