Ruling only applies to private schools that have a profitable program. I'm sure they can shuffle the money around with a backer program that pays for facilities to become unprofitable.

Sorry. I took typing because it was required at the engineering magnet school I went to back with real typewrtiers. I really got my money out of it over the last 25+ years.

    Whats rustling your jimmies?

It takes a long time to type actually. It's amazing how hard it is to type correctly when you can't feel the little bump on the J key with your finger. Probably the last 2-3 weeks I have really going over all my post and emails to make sure I didn't booboo. Thanks for the kind words. I...

    Whats rustling your jimmies?

Diagnosed with massive brain damage today either due to many strokes or MS (spinal tap Tuesday to find out). In just a few weeks lost feeling of hot/cold in over 1/2 my body, the use of one hand, the ability to walk without a cane and even then it's questionable, and the ability to think...

Just don't care for most of the AL teams. Grew up watching the Astros play all NL teams as rivals etc...before 24 hour sports stations.

LSU Football and LSU baseball (yes college baseball) Used to be an Astros fan but now that they are in the AL I will likely never watch or attend another game.

The only thing the lady at the bank asked me about on my first loan was why my deposists of a weekly paycheck only appeared every 4-6 weeks. I never thought they would ask about how often you deposit your checks but they did.

Depends on your market. I am renting a home now for 3-4 months to be closer to work during our busy season when I might have to work 7 days a week at 14 hours a day and don't want to commute. For the rent I pay to live in a nice area you could buy a house that would be in the top 10% of homes...

First high school reunion coming up

I didn't go to any and they are having the 25 year this year. Since high school ended I haven't talked to anyone I went to school with or kept up with any of them either. I ony know one of them is still alive because his brother works with me. I just never saw the appeal of reunions. I...

I gotta run to the store. I put the chains on my truck and tried to make it out of the office parking lot. Forget about it. Warming up the cherry picker now. It will likely do OK because it has a super low gear and outriggers I can put down. We'll see. I saw a guy at the shop next to us dirve...

I guess. Breaking it up seems to be working somewhat on the ramp. Getting rid of it is another issue apparently. The railing is a good 3.5 feet tall there and even then it's over another road and some houses. Not to metnion I bet a sheet of ice 3" thick 4' x 8' weighs a shitload. Speaking of...

    Recommend a dating site

Reading that was really depressing. He should have spent the time improving his people skills I guess. I have never tried online match making, a 1000 questions? I don't think I asked my last girlfriend a 1000 questions total. I only clicked on the thread since I moved to a metro area and was...

They have a couple of air compressors on trailers now and are busting ice on the ramps at least with jackhammers. They're all tied up on a lifeline with a yoyo in case they fall, I guess they won't slide 1/2 a mile down the bridge.

Like poor people want a job lol. I'm here all day because we have the contract to support the Exxon refinery (basically we are their maintenance shop) and they never shut down, and even if they wanted to it would take weeks to months to do so. Anyway, was talking to one of the chief DOTD guys...

One one bridge right now they have 30+ trucks spreading salt from the salt domes (where we store strategic oil reserves), sand, and spraying glycol. They've been at it since at 7am when it got light enough for me to see them from my office. Still hasn't made a big enough dent that traffic could...

They just went out and measured the ice on the news here. On the I-10 bridge across the MS river on the bridge itself the ice was 2-2.5" thick and where the water ran down onto the on ramps it was right at 3". Guessing that won't melt when it warms up until the sun gets on it. Kinda funny...

It's not snow down here but ice. Even when it snows the humidity in the atmosphere will ice up the road. I can't believe there's even a talk involved beyond "leave and we'll keep the computer". If you told me your work computer had pictures of your kid that were no where else I'm pretty sure I would say you should have thought about that a little more. I guess people nowdays just take it for...

You know you're getting old when.....

Last Friday was my 43rd birthday which really didn't bother me. However at work one guy I have known all my life (my dad retired from this same company) mentioned that I have been dating the same women on and off for 20 years. It didn't really hit me till on the drive home. Man that made me feel...

Ice, ice and more ice. Every bridge across the MS river is closed due to heavy icing south of Natchez, MS. Turned around and come home this morning. 27F and pouring rain, was OK as long as you could stay off a bridge which is nearly impossible here in flatland/waterland Louisiana.

    The NSA watches you poop.

The only obvious answer is for everyone to email and text each other all the words on the watch list endlessly until the entire system implodes from data overload. We need a contact in the middle east to make millions of throw away emails to bounce them off of as well.

    Moving to San Antonio

I assume they are talking about cedar allergies. I'm not certain on San Antonio but up around Austin and up to and around Waco they can be pretty bad. Other than that I have no idea. Out of all the large metro areas in Texas, San Antonio is the only one I would move to.

I'm sure they make their payments, but if they get a $50/raise they instantly figure out what they fan finance for that extra $50 payment. Gravy's Cooking Thread

I asked about it earlier in this thread and eventually bought one. Never done an egg but for stuff like a wild duck they work great. Cooked done on the inside with a crispy skin and not tough. It was worth the purchase price for me on this alone as I cook a lot of wild duck.
