There wouldn't be as much SEC bias if teams that got into the title game actually won. Until someone beats the SEC in the title game the SEC is going to get the benefit of the doubt at the top.

Yup Alabama will likely be #4 or #5 following this week as well. It's a double edged sword when you talk about beating ranked teams. They stay ranked if you lose to them, you beat them and they fall out of the rankings

I could see Auburn making it with 1 loss because they have the win over #1. Not sure Missouri could do it if they win out. Auburn has a loss to a team that is #17 this week and Missouri has a loss to #10.

Here's an odd stat. ESPN just said there have only been 4 missed FG's returned for a touchdown in NCAA history. Two of which happened this year and both in the SEC. Maybe I missed something but that just doesn't seem right. Maybe they meant 4 times it has been returned 100 yards to win the game.

People would be arguing if Alabama deserved to be in the top 4 etc....no matter how many spots you make the playoff people are still going to argue the last team left out could have beat X.

It wasn't a blow out at 38-24 but you lost to a team that took massive amounts of help to get there. LSU had 2 losses and is the only team in BCS history to make it to the title game and win with 2 losses. We even lost our last game and made it. We will see if the voters are ready to watch...

OK I haven't looked at OSU schedule, who have they beat that is ranked in the top 25? Who have they beat that is bowl eligible? Everyone in the SEC West is bowl eligible minus Arkansas and that's just Auburns in division schedule.

Right or wrong you get a certain amount of leeway coming out of the SEC over other conferences. That's why you wind up with 2 loss SEC teams winning the BCS and 1 loss SEC teams playing zero loss SEC teams in a rematch for the title.

I wouldn't bet on it if they can get thru the SEC championship game. If OSU was a 1 loss team they probably would be ranked below a 2 loss team, but at zero losses no other place to stick them right now.

The voters will weigh it down enough that the computers can't fix it. If Auburn holds up in the title game I expect them to bypass OSU.

It's not tie ins to where you finish, it's each bowl in the list gets to pick. There's no rule that states the #1 pick has to take any team other than one that is bow eligible. Last year the SEC comissioner lobbied the Capital One and Chicken bowl to exchange picks and that's how LSU and A&M...

Looks like Cotton for us against Baylor. Better than the Chicken bowl against Duke but these auto tie ins are getting old. Go to Chicken bowl, go to the Cotton bowl, go the Sugar bowl rinse and repeat. The Sugar bowl isn't bad since it's historically the bowl for the winner of the SEC.
