Keep or broker any crafting materials. Use your food. Sell any allaghan pieces. Sell any equipment you won't use on any classes you don't plan on leveling up. If you have any 100% spiritbound equipment that you would otherwise sell, convert it into materia. Think that covers everything.

GC hunting log is also used for promotions to each "wrung" of ranks. To get promoted to the 5th rank, you need to have completed tier 1. I'm assuming tier 2 will be to unlock rank 9. You still need to spend seals for the promotion though.
