Actually, there ARE some exciting upgrades. If you max out the defense against guards line, you can get a stacking buff that gives you +250 vitality with infinite duration until you die. You just have to kill 5 guards every time you die to stack the buff back up, it's kind of insane.

Queen's Gauntlet is fun, when going for the achievements. Better designed encounters than most raids in non-WoW games. Granted, some classes have much easier times doing certain encounters and achievements, but overall every class is good at something.
