Same with WoW where they said changing the starting bag to anything but 16 slots completely broke the game

In my experience with how easily anthropic handles UEFI coding, none of this cobol stuff is a concern. The feature I'm the owner for is massive, sprawling internal IP and it can explain our entire code flow like it's been working on it for years. And the scary part is it's never wrong. Now to...

    Dark Souls

There's some context though lol. Dark Souls 1 when it came out was really hard. But if you've played the other games it's piss easy. Especially if you did Bloodborne, Sekiro or Elden Ring. In the last couple years I replayed all 7 games and dark souls 1 was basically a joke. I think I beat it...

Been playing rogue trader, about 10H in and really enjoying it so far. Love the Warhammer universe. Only issue is the amount of trash loot is overwhelming but I guess owlcat games do that in general.

I do see a problem in hiring junior devs. I think as developers ourselves we know the benefit obviously as the hope is they grow with the teams and become senior devs themselves. But from a business standpoint where they're thinking quarterly financials at a time it makes much more sense to have...

If I continue my example the reason I was able to get that code ported in 20 minutes and spend a few hours making it 100% solid is because I knew both what I was doing, but more importantly exactly what needed to be done. I'm sure some execs eyes are gonna light up when they hear what I did and...

I think questioning the ethics of utilizing so much AI is perfectly valid. Think about a place like nvidia where jensen said if your senior devs aren't using 250k tokens they shouldn't be employed. 250k tokens is more than we have allocated for our entire couple hundred developers. We get...

Well Gemini is not using anthropic models, so yes it's AI but it's not great. By the way today we finally ran my code and it worked the first time on a live server. Just bonkers.

I almost fell into the first category. I wrote AI off when we first got access to the gpt models and llama. It just didn't understand our code. It was useful for making debug prints and stuff so I assumed when we moved to this it would be the same. But anthropic is so far beyond that it's...

Got a really short timeline to spin up a new server line with our product. I estimated just porting our code to be 3 weeks plus a week of validation. Now given I baked in a buffer because we all know things never go smooth. One of my goals for the year was to utilize AI to increase platform...

My theory is they don't think AI will replace engineers, but rather AI will replace American engineers. They're hoping they can pay an Indian 1/10th of our salary and if the AI tools are good enough they can be on par.
