So much of baseball comes down to interaction between pitcher and hitter, as well. Hockey is another sport where analytics are starting to scratch the surface, but they're still not able to take in the whole picture yet. Shot quality in hockey is such a slippery thing to measure accurately.

There's definitely a lot of noise in football analytics in certain areas. But a lot of it is far better than usual stuff like passer rating, or stuff like RB's running behind the worst line in the league only looking at their raw yards/carry stat, etc.
