That's good too. We usually do that a couple times a year, always on St. Paddys.

Here, too. You have to order prime rib a month in advance here. I like it, but we do it a few times a year, so it doesn't feel special. We grow our own geese, so it's a special thing to dress one for a holiday meal.

I have friends who do, and they said they had a hard time finding a company that they trusted and liked. They went through a few, and it wasn't until they went and spent time at the rental property themselves and got to know the locals that they founds someone. It always seems that it turns out...

Can someone break down how the new rule is different for me? It sounds the same. I might be dense, though.

    Ham vs Turkey

When lamb is freshly cooked it is amazing. However, I find it doesn't reheat well. The flavour gets gamier as it sits in the fridge. I love lamb, but always cook just enough to eat, no leftovers.

    What tickles your pickle

I once had a girlfriend who said she liked the smell of my mom's perfume, and could I get her some. I noped out of that.

    Ham vs Turkey

I mean no disrespect to you or your wife, but what the fuck is wrong with her? Left overs are amazing. I have them almost every day for lunch.

    Ham vs Turkey

You are weak. Ham sandwiches. Ham salad. Ham and eggs. Every meal for a week if you have to. Also, this is the best preparation for ham:

    Ham vs Turkey

I like Prime Rib for New Years. But usually I do a Beef Wellington for New Years. Or we do fondue, depending on people's mood. What other holiday food traditions do you guys have? We always do scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and capers on home made english muffins and a light hollandaise for...

    Ham vs Turkey

No, I didn't lie. spatchcocking a turkey is more preparation than putting it in whole. That's pretty non arguable. It's not hard, and it doesn't take that long, but it takes longer than not doing it. Duh. But a goose, man. Delicious. Slide some citrus under the skin, lift it off the bottom of...

    Ham vs Turkey

Maybe. But I know I'm not alone. Turkey is a tradition. If the tradition didn't exist likely no one would buy it. You have to work hard, spatchcock or whatever, to make it good. Or you can roast a chicken, goose, or duck and have it come out awesome. People's loyalty to turkey is remarkable.

Yeah, I've done that, too. Know what tastes better? Virtually every other bird you can cook.

    Ham vs Turkey

Are you retarded? Of course it does. Read carefully: 1. cooking turkey: season it, cook it. 2. cooking ham: season it, cook it. results: 1. turkey needs something to be tasty after being cooked. Serve with cranberry and gravy. 2. ham is fine after being cooked without further accoutrements...
  30. lurkingdirk

    Ham vs Turkey

No. You add things to both to cook them. One, when finished, tastes good on its own. The other needs gravy and cranberry sauce, regardless of how you cook it. How are you this dense? How can you not understand what I'm saying?
  31. lurkingdirk

    Ham vs Turkey

Even a smoked turkey I find needs something. I may be prejudiced.
  32. lurkingdirk

    Ham vs Turkey

Not what I said, and not a smart reply. Of course I season my ham. But, once it's cooked, I take a piece of ham by itself, no other trimmings, and eat it and think, "damn, that's delicious." You can't do the same with turkey. Pick up a piece of turkey, put it in your mouth, and you think, "that...
  33. lurkingdirk

    Ham vs Turkey

No. Turkey NEEDS cranberry and gravy in order to not taste like crap. Cook a superior bird. One that can stand on its own.

    Ham vs Turkey

I know how to cook. I've brined, smoked, done every kind of turkey. Know what's better? Literally everything.

    Ham vs Turkey

Turkey is crap meat. It's dry no matter what. People who say it isn't are deluded. I'll never cook a turkey again if I can help it. We cook goose at Christmas. Sometimes duck, but goose is better. Ham is good, too.
