Star Citizen Online - The search for more money

I love the idea of describing something that is 7 years late, and counting, as "missing a window". By the time SQ42 launches, if it ever does, they will have missed by a decade.

Nobody buys a kilo at gram prices. With a $200M purchase I doubt you are paying more than a few grand a kilo.

The whole point of these kind of AIs is that you don't code the logic. The AIs learn from playing the game (something along the lines of Alpha Go). I don't know how tractable this is given the current state of reinforcement learning, but a learning mob should be the ultimate goal.

The moment you grab the treasure there is going to be a big negative hit to the cost function. I don’t think that would work like you are thinking about it. Additionally, you can design around this sort of stuff. mob ai’s are laughable now. Better AIs would make for more fun and unpredictable...

So that is interesting. If the cost function is based on protecting treasure for example (no idea how to design that function), and you want the treasure how would you teach it to be dumb? Also I'm already there on the PvP. Destiny is the only game that's really hooked me in recent years.

With the amount of player interactions that these mobs have I suspect you could create some really cool AIs with reinforcement learning. Give the mobs some sort of cost function and see what happens. You could have all sorts of cost functions: staying alive, killing healers, protecting treasure...

I haven't done "end-game" anything in a really long time, but isn't the answer to people posting strats online and ruining the fun for everyone to simply imbue the end game mobs with AI and/or randomness? If you don't know what you are getting or you don't know what the mob will do you can't...

I'm pretty sure you can play on heritage sports and access the WPN poker room. They take bitcoin deposits and payout in bitcoin so transfers should be pretty easy.

Alright Araysar, lets go to your place. It's not always for the sake of sex as I've found a few women on there that I've dated for a significant period of time. Especially given my job (nobody really wants someone who isn't home 70% of the week and plans on moving in less than a year). However...

That's great news! Thanks for that. On a side note, it blows my mind that OK Cupid and match are owned by the same company. Match must have one of the worst user interfaces in the world, and OK Cupid's is at least serviceable. I don't get how you own both products and think, "Our Match user...

It's really too bad that Match shut down the OK Trends blog. It was one of the more interesting blogs I'd ever come across. Also, added coffee meets bagel to my list of dating sites today. I kind of like it. 1 match per day and no searching. I think that it'll be a better way to meet people.

An anesthetist is a CRNA and they get paid significantly more than a nurse practitioner. $200k is on the high side though. So that probably means some overtime or they are in an area where they can't find them. Interestingly the lower the cost of living the more you get paid at hospitals usually...

Jeff Walker Marketing Class for Product Launches

He moves too much when he talks, and it makes him exhausting to watch. Read a few books I'm sure it'll be better than this guy. Anyhow learning why marketing works and doesn't work is better than being handed a solution. That whole give a man a fish vs. teach a man to fish thing.

    Men's Fashion

There's only so much that they can do without having to pull the whole thing apart, and at that point you're better off getting a suit that's closer to your ideal. The closer you are to a good fitting suit with styling you like at the outset the better off you are. However, I love the fabric...

I've been able to pick up fully canvassed suits for ~$450-500 from Brooks Brothers on discount sites. They're usually marked down from ~$1500, and the fabric used on those suits is far superior to their less expensive lines. However, I like the styling of my less expensive BB suits better. Off...

Perhaps and maybe it's because I've worked mainly in financial services and consulting firms my whole life, but I've never come across these sorts of plans. My prior plan was a mix of actively managed and index funds with no loads through JP Morgan, and my current plan is through Vanguard. I...

Your work apparently hates you having money. Those funds have ridiculous fees. I'd go talk to whomever setup that plan and ask them to get some index funds in there. Without loads because class A in a 401k is ridiculous. Within that I'd be looking at the two R funds and call it a day.

I don't even track my investments. I just throw money in there and leave it. I'm not looking to retire for another 35 years so tracking them now just seems to be a pain and will provide extraordinarily little value add. Once a year I'll go in and rebalance my portfolio, but other than that I...

    What do you do?

Maybe it works this way in science, but I've found the exact opposite to be true in the corporate world. The higher up you are the easier it is to ax you unless you are absolutely critical, and no one is no matter what they think.
