While Tom didn't play as well this year as years past, it really was a problem that the team felt unprepared and sloppy all year long.

A classic example from the playoff game - on the INT in the endzone Tom threw, watch what Mike Evans and Russel Gage were doing. They thought it was a run and were jogging their routes/blocking their guy, while Godwin knew it was a pass and was running his route hard. Ultimately Tom threw that INT, but the fact that all 11 players weren't in sync feels like an indictment on coaching - their job is to make sure the players are prepared for the situations they face in game time.

There's a handful of these kinds of plays each game all year, and couple that with ineffective offensive play-calling, he had to go.

Ravens part ways with Greg Roman, sounds like more of a mutual thing than a firing.

The team admitted months ago he was looking at college OC jobs, at a minimum. Probably found something "closer to family" or some such.

Without Lamarr he looked lost. Could not call a decent offense the last month of the season. And with Lamarr seemingly gone (there are Vegas odds on where he ends up, and the Ravens are not top 3) there really is no need for Roman anymore. Time to move on.

Any OC is gonna look lost without Lamar and the way they build the roster and they damn near beat cinci last week.

There is a good case against Leftwich and the utter inflexibility of his gameplans, he did not adjust his playcalling to account for the lesser capabilities of backup players nor did he seem to make any adjustments at halftime. Doesn't change the fact that the problem is Bowles, not Leftwich. Leftwich handled his job just fine under the leadership of Arians, under Bowles the team fell apart on both sides of the ball. His decision making makes Staley look good, he is in completely over his head and it feels like they're throwing Leftwich under the bus to cover for him.

I'm guessing that when the team completely collapses to the bottom of their terrible conference next season it will somehow still not be Bowles fault.

If Tom Brady is gone (and he probably is) then the Bucs probably want to tank anyways. They were 8-9 WITH him.

2 black head coaches fired in the same season, Roger can't let that happen.

He vigorously defends every decision he makes without even the slightest allowance that maybe doing the other thing might have been better, which means there's basically no chance he's going to stop doing it.
This is the problem.

Sure, you can say that the Chargers are "winning", but it should be VERY obvious by now that the coach is incompetent.

Maybe he'll go rejoin Jim in Michigan since he has been riding that family's nuts for over a decade. Dude is and always has been shit.

You're preaching to the choir but we're also talking about a team that doesn't have fans at home games with a renowned cheapass owner. There's no fucking way Spanos is gonna shell out the 20-25m a year that Payton is reportedly expecting, especially if he can get winning seasons out of his bargain basement coach.

It's weird to say but I think he might be better off with Hill being gone. Not because Hill wasn't an amazing receiver but because he's not available as a crutch that's Mahomes always looked to. It forced him to be more willing to take the best available throw instead of forcing some throws to Hill.

Wonder if that means Brady will be back for one more year

Probably. If he goes to the Raiders you are going to see a million Raider fans nope out next year. Hell, half of us already noped out with the way they treated Carr.

I think it is probably very likely Tom decides to walk away from the Buccs, although whether or not he signs with another team I think will rely a lot on what the situation ends up being with his kids. I mean, will he really want to move to Las Vegas for example?

He also apparently has some mega deal with Fox Sports on the table after he retires
