Look racist to me. Hope they wear them during the black awareness months.

The settlements are only with the Texans. Watson still has at least 4 outstanding civil lawsuits that are still ongoing.

Who would even want him at this point? Seahawks seemed destined to be awful for the draft next year, and Houston wants to give Mills a shot. Everyone else seems pretty set for at least this season.

I mean, is this really even news? I guess they officially gave him the OK to seek a trade, but I am pretty sure the 49ers have been trying to do that for a while. And beyond the problem of finding someone who wants him, he would have to (I assume) pass a physical for the trade to be approved. Last I heard he won't be fully cleared until Mid August.

Browns seem like the most likely spot for him but I doubt there's any reason to give up a pick for him vs just waiting for him to be released. I guess if you want him in training camp you might offer a 5th rounder or something.

Definitely shows that the QB market has changed though. 5 years ago a QB who had taken a team deep in the playoffs multiple times and was still in his prime would have been a much hotter commodity.

Some of the difference might be the idea it wasn't the QB taking the team deep into the playoffs multiple times, but the team taking the QB. Whether true or not.

Kinda a fucked up move on the 49ers part. Wait until all the teams have made moves for QBs then tell him he can seek a trade. I wonder if they did that so they can say that no one wanted him and keep him as a backup.

fwiw, he's also not completely medically cleared yet, so that may have played into it somewhat

Yeah, what Merrith said.

All the rumors are they had a trade all but in place before the surgery announcement, and that basically shut down any trade talks. He can't be traded because he can't pass a physical.

I still think he's on the 49ers roster Week 1, but he won't start and it'll likely be blamed on his "healing process" or some other such bullshit.

If he does get moved, I think he ends up in New York - either the Jets or Giants. I think the dark horse that could end up with him is Miami, due to the McDaniel connection, Jimmy loving fucking pornstars, and Tua not panning out/getting hurt.

I don't think there is anyway in hell he is on the roster in Week 1.
