For the Patriots, for the upcoming season, CURRENTLY they are favorites on Draftkings sports book in 11 of the 17 games.

over under for wins is 8.5.

Glad they got it done before training camp. I hope he makes the guys above him look overpriced.

Only thing more likely to happen than the Cowboys losing in the first round of the playoffs is the Chargers finding new and creative ways lose regular season games and miss the playoffs.

My all time favorite was losing the game on a kneel down to burn clock before attempting an easy game winning field goal less than 30 yards away and Rivers fumbled the snap.

Zero superbowl winning quarterbacks in that list and only 3 that have even appeared in one.
To be fair, 7 of the last 10 winners were either Mahomes or Brady and Hurts/Stafford/Mahomes are the only ones not retired.

Mahomes and the Chiefs have also been cleverly restructuring his contract by pulling more off the back end of the deal a few times now, so, his pay is actually a bit higher than is usually tracked on paper and flys under the radar. It's actually starting to catch up a little bit - he's #3 in cap hit for the upcoming season.

Criminy. $90M to play 1 year of football. I can see why some guys lose their edge after they get that big contract. I probably would too.

Baker, Herbert, and Goff are absolute bargains compared to a lot of the trash above them

That's a really long chart to say 'Unless your QB is still on his rookie deal (Panthers, 49ers (when this was made), Titans, Colts, Commies, Vikings, Bears, Broncos, New England) or you're fishing through the cutrate free agent QB castoffs (Jets, Steelers, Colts again), your highest paid player is almost certainly the QB. And no, there's no real correlation between that salary and competence, as it is really a mix of 'inflation' from new TV deals and team salary cap increases, and that specific team's QB contract structure on whether they were paid early (because you had the money and no one else to spend it on) or late (because you wanted to sign other players for the QB).

naw i am a Patriots homer i am betting the over once i remember/reset my password. unless the o/u is 9 or higher.

Most of the hosts on the local sports radio shows have the Patriots winning 9-11 games this year. and either just missing or just making the playoffs. Most of hosts Last year had the patriots at the 3-5 wins range.

won't know until training camp/season starts but i am looking forward to the season.

i've been a patriots fan since the 1970's when they sucked(when i was a kid), went to games in the 1980's and 1990's(turned 21 in 1987) when they sucked for the most part(85 being the exception)....then we got spoiled for 26 years( 1993-2019-essentially since Kraft brought in Parcells) where they were either good/decent or perennial SB contender with Brady as the QB 2001-2019.

I think the Patriots should be good this year. The team is pretty well-rounded, they have their Coach & QB in place, and their division is bad outside of the Bills, and their schedule is soft as baby shit. 10 wins seems very doable if they can just stabilize, winning the games they should and lose the games they have scheduled against the better teams.
