So I just realized the 49ers and Rams play this Thursday, but the 49ers already had a Thursday game earlier this year. I thought outside of Thanksgiving games, teams only played one Thursday game per year. Am I totally crazy there, or did something different happen this year?

I believe it was changed around the time of Amazon getting Thursday nights or just before that teams can play up to 2 Thursday night games per season

I think it was when NFL expanded to a 17 game season.
