Note that there's a difference between 4-game minimum IR and season-ending IR, and it sounds like both of them are on boomerang.

Speaking of which, note that some orgs (like the Packers) have kept clearly-done-for-the-season players off the IR until three games are on the books so those players get a 'credited' season for minimum salary and pension purposes. (Though even there there's a caveat where players have to be on the roster for six games for an 'accrued' season for free agency eligibility at the beginning of their career.)
