I played a ranger in the last one. Cleric in beta of it. It was funny in beta getting a random legendary weapon drop in Abyss, looting it and then half the server congratulating me in DM's because.. you guessed it, legendary drops were announced to everyone "blah blah looted legendaryweaponyaddayadda" 
But Ranger was fun, you could literally kite pretty much everything, including chevron mobs. And you had to. There was literally 0 grouping outside of Chevron camps and those ussually required a dedicated tank and a dedicated healer, which meant you needed Templar and Cleric, and EU server had like 2 Templars and 3 clerics
In Original Aion, The Gladiator didn't cut it as a tank. Well, not against group mobs (chevrons).
Edit: Yeah.. the biggest controversy about Rangers in original was that bows didn't have a visible bowstring. Does anyone know if it's visible in Aion 2?

The fact that your entire rotation can be macroed into a 1 button spam key makes this DOA for me. Combat is going to be a snore fest - Korean games are notoriously grindy so the only thing that saves the good ones is a great combat system (Lost Ark, BDO).
Without that, it's just a boring P2W fest.

I will probably do this launch, not sure i want to do a pack or not, for the 5 days. Maybe the basic bitch pack just for the month sub + 5 day start. I assume things in tthe $100 pack like the wings have +flight time and the pet some kind of buff.
No clue what to play, i did a chanter months go for a little bit, because the buffs for group sounds fun(like a bard). But tempted to try a archer.

Chanter is basically bard-like if you like it. In original there was like 5 or 6 mantras, but you could only keep 3 up, so people ussually had mana regen, heals and runspeed
That last one was pretty OP, because until there were horses or using elevation (only worked when going downhill) to glide with wings (and having like max 30-60seconds of it) basic movement speed sucked.
Rangers were quite power dps, but I think Rogues and Wizards were above them. The whole archer thingie got stale fast.

I don’t understand (South) Koreans. Like , you’re the fucking west now. You can take risks, be creative, try something new. But you act like fucking china, just copying each other to no end. The same grindy upgrade mechanic for over two decades of MMOs. Is it genetic? Break some fucking eggs you Faulty Armors

This is not false (that it can be 1 button macro'd) however they've made changes so that it's slightly less efficient to do this. You are certainly not getting anywhere near the combat complexity of Lost Ark & BDO however the combat has been trending in a better direction for a bit now.
No advantage for the wings/pet.
They're also the only ones making MMOs.

I tend to buy the deluxe packs for new mmo's. But usually the mounts, etc. have some sort of perk. I don't understand these AION 2 packs. Outside of the monthly sub and the headstart, the extras are just not that good. The cosmetics are ok, but they're not exclusive and there seems to be better. And the cosmetics/pets/mounts you get in world has stats from what I understand. The other stuff in these packs give a bit of QoL, but unless I'm missing something it's nothing great.
If they could give me a reason to take my money I would gladly give it to them. But it looks like I'm just doing the basic pack this go around.

Different. Definitely not BDO. Sounds like learning the encounter becomes a bit more important.

Yes, you become a lab rat after leveling. Asian developers absolutely love colored shapes on the ground.
Wasn't it said someplace that the 9th class that this dude is showing won't be avaliable at launch?
