The way the UI lists the bonuses you get for ranking up skills, it looks like it's automatic(and honestly should be). I didn't even notice those 3 boxes above it.
I just started last night with the new character, and my gear score is 700@level 34, how fucked am I on progression?

Not sure why this game was getting so much hate pre-release. There is a LOT to do and it is actually pretty addicting, at least thus far two weeks in. I'm enjoying myself quite a bit. The whales don't affect me at all, but i could see it being annoying if i was pvp'ing in the abyss more than I am.

Yes, exactly what I thought as well.. It's a good game, don't really care about the whales either. But they need to do something about the bots.

This is the only way to transfer kina between players (other than the legit way). Ban the buyer and the seller. Every ban costs both $15 ($25 on EA servers) and a level 45 character, plus whatever the player paid for the kina. Any idiot intern could handle this. OR, you could have a fucking LLM do it. Bot vs Bot FTW.
It's not like these guys are hard to spot, pretty sure they don't know English. The vast majority of bots on our server have names that are random letters all caps, random letters all lowercase, English Christian names with a "b" on the end, or they're a Ted.

It really does seem like if they put even the slightest bit of effort in and had the intent to, they could drastically reduce the botting and RMT problems. Do what BDO does with the AH, give stuff a fixed price range, that adjusts over time if stuff is selling at max or min consistently. Hire a human GM to just monitor servers (with AI tools) and ban liberally, most of the names are a dead giveaway as already said, and they path and move like bots as well.

Playing this kind of makes me miss the old days when I played WoW and not quite as long with ESO where you actually cleared the mob packs in dungeons and raids intelligently and then clear the boss(es)... With AION 2 it's just zerg past them all to each boss which seems anticlimactic, lol.

All the running past trash mobs and taking drafts and gliding bullshit is just smoke and mirrors to hide the fact that it's a lobby game. They could just respect your time and zone you right into the boss room, since they're unable to actually design interesting content.

Yeah, just make it a boss rush with a hallway with bosses off each room and remove the pointless trash mobs, lol.

Grind for Pets. I suggest going for Cogni first, as those pets give combat stats. Open the Pet menu, the Cogni pet list is the top one, click a Pet and over on the right side of the screen you should see a Source or Info button. Click that to find out where that Pet drops. Go get it to max. Keep doing that. This will give you unbound Kinah and drops (occasionally gold drops). If you go to Immortal Island, you can farm the Kerubian mobs as they are Cogni, if I recall there are 3 types there. You can also grind Natura Pets there, which give good stats as well, and there are several types.
If you have 1400 GS, spend energy in Uruguru or Vakron, each clear gives 300k unbound.

Is that how you swung your combat power so high? I've not jacked with the pets at all other than collecting ones I thought looked cool haha.
I'm enjoying this more than I thought I would, have like 3 45's, soon to be 4. Leveling is easy and fast but the grind is real in a lot of ways, and rng can totally bone your weekly progression if you get really unlucky. My chanter I got crazy good luck on in the 14-1800 range, but glad and cleric have been shite. I somehow cruised to like 2200 gs on chanter but kinda stuck on other toons because no drops.

Not sure. It is probably mostly Stigma, where I have three skills at lvl15, and the 50 Stagger skill at lvl1. The Special Genus is at lvl10, while all the rest are at lvl9, working on getting the really nice title for having all at lvl10. Haven't tried to get the best rolls on any of them though. Getting Skill levels on pieces of gear helps too. Still haven't tried Transcendence, I'd like to get the Vakron Guard / Cloak first.

I think the only pets I need now are on the Elyos side, not too interested in getting them as I'd rather max out the ones I have first.
