These animals are not compatible with civilization.

Just to bring us back to the Alien topic, but it works for both!

Figured out why this show doesn't feel big or important. I've never once felt like Earth is in any kind of peril from the Xenomorph menaces. The characters all seem pretty unconcerned (most of them being androids doesn't help) and while everything has been confined to the wrecked ship, I don't remember there being much tension about the aliens getting out. All the tension is between the corporations and which one will get to weaponize them first / win the android race.
I mean not everything has to be world ending conflicts. Conflicts can happen between characters, corporations, and environments. We've all picked who we want to "win". Obviously Wendy has the thickest plot armor, but I'm pulling for the cybo-jogger for the lolz.Figured out why this show doesn't feel big or important. Not really, or not yet. Maybe it'll suddenly get super interesting in the last four episodes, but I'm not holding my breath.Does this get any better? I watched the first 2 episodes and was unimpressed. The way its shot... idk it just comes off as amateurish and overly self-serious.
this sounds about right, and their fallback is always to reference peter pan!I feel like it's trying to be interesting, but the writers aren't talented enough. You know, like usual these days.
That's why I said maybe during the second or third episode that it seems like the whole damn thing is the writer's room issue. I don't even really remember what happened in the 4th episode because it was just so blase.I feel like it's trying to be interesting, but the writers aren't talented enough. ……it’s a prequel to movies that made it clear never heard or seen the alien before on earthFigured out why this show doesn't feel big or important. It's not like regular people would have any idea about anything the corporations didn't want them to know. It's not exactly a free world out there. Aliens on earth definitely could have been a thing and the crew of the Nostromo would have no fucking clue.……it’s a prequel to movies that made it clear never heard or seen the alien before on earth
any movie that goes for prequels best they can do is world building and interesting takes on things
the rules are set where the starting date is here and end date is alien movie where such and such is established so then it’s how many seasons can we fit and not write ourselves into a corner
Then it comes down to the starwars question of which order do you watch things for the younger your kids generations
cause then your concern is valid as in do you want your kids shocked by the “I am your father” or they already know from letting them watch in episode order
Ok fair pointIt's not like regular people would have any idea about anything the corporations didn't want them to know. It's not exactly a free world out there. Aliens on earth definitely could have been a thing and the crew of the Nostromo would have no fucking clue.
Ok fair point
so nostromo crew can easily be kept in the dark as the rest of the general population
ash the android would truly know and wasn’t just excited to hit the alien species discovery?
aliens corpo interrogation of Ripley meeting they are just higher level management and they didn’t know?
same for Burke?
bishop same as ash?
I guess that’s the only “in the way” explanations they would need to make
I just don’t want stupid! The blatant it is going to be this way cause we own it and what we say goes so as long as they logically and properly continue and it flows and makes sense then ok
predator is still on the shit list
Ash was a robot and was had programming for alien life forms. Not specifically Xenomorphs. It's why he went crazy too because his protect humans programming came into conflict with the crew expendable one.Ok fair point

Burke is a fucking nobody in the hierarchy. Clearly neither did any of the board because they were completely ignoring anything about Xenomorphs.
You don't know any classified info and neither does anyone else that doesn't have a need to know. Why do you think it would be any different in Alien or Aliens? They didn't even tell the Marines what they were up against. They had to use Ripley. The company sure knew to transform that moon/planet though.
Disposable troop.
Well apparently she's at the stupid Neverland base, so I'm sure we're going to get more of her. I mean why wouldn't you bring your crack team of corporate commandos with you!Disposable troop.
Planet shake n bake colonies were a regular thing and infestation was due to Burke giving the push finally only after gaining the knowledge from ripley’s storiesAsh was a robot and was had programming for alien life forms. No disagreement. We are on the same page. Burke didn't know ahead of time.Planet shake n bake colonies were a regular thing and infestation was due to Burke giving the push finally only after gaining the knowledge from ripley’s stories
None of that can be retrofitted to be “oh it was a master plan all along we always knew about the aliens and that Burke guy just happened to accelerate things before we were ready”
