There was two separate reshoot teams for Rogue One, one focused on Act 1 changes while the other handled the ending and better continuity leading in to ANH. Essentially they did not expect Disney would let them kill all of the main cast so they created family friendly yet convoluted ways some survived. Jyn was originally an empire soldier and instead of having her confront Krennic as the daughter-turned-rebel Vader got the honor with a force choke. Her role shifted to Bodhi being the turncoat pilot set by Galen Erso, and then they still needed a backstory for her related to Saw while also cutting out some Dantooine as the previous rebel base material.

That's why Act 1 was such a jumbled mess they cut a lot of rebel and Saw Gerrera story from the original while inserting Bodhi and alternate Jyn stuff from reshoots. Act 3 got the greenlight to murder everybody so Krennic vs Jyn Erso could happen while Vader got the hallway scene with Leia's corvette getting away.

The actress who played Kleya is going places. She owned that character.
The actress just nailed it. I wish Tony Gilroy would do a spinoff series with her.

Kleya told him ? What am I missing ?

Yea Kleya told him.

When they made this movie Kleya did not exist and this show was not even close to being a thing, I guess they got lucky they shot it that way back in 2015.

Its weird right? Also I did laugh that they found Jyn in prison under an assumed name in about 10 minutes.

Just rewatched rogue 1. I actually thought the Scariff part was way too long. Needed more Jedah/Saw. And the score really 8s horrible. However as Star Wars movies go its still better then the prequels.

I really want Gilroy to do a Dash or Kyle show.

Just watched it last night and was thinking it would have been better as a 3 episode arc like the rest of andor. Slow pace of the first 2 episodes getting jyn and fleshing out galen then scarif as the last episode.

I have to admit that after watching Andor, Rogue One felt like they turned the pacing up to 10. Andor's pacing for the most part was one of the reasons it was so good. Re-watching Rogue One made me feel like the movie was actually a 6-8 hour movie script that they had to work down to 2. Its interesting how Andor changed how I viewed Rogue One.

That being said, Rogue One is still a great movie compared to just about everything Star Wars.

i am not an emotional man, i rarely cry.

but when Bix was holding their baby in the wheat fields of Space Iowa, I felt my dry cold tear ducts well up a little.

12/10 TV show absolute GOAT nothing Star Wars will top this again in my lifetime. I am jonesing hard for more Star Wars now, gonna rewatch Rogue One, the OG trilogy, and maybe find a video game to replay/play.

Goddamit, now I'm going to have to sign up for Disney Plus and watch this. I'm not a huge Star wars nerd, but the way you guys are talking about it, it seems like must see TV. I don't really care for rogue one that much, and I just kind of assumed that the show is building up to something that I already know the ending of.

If I'm correct there's not going to be any more of it right? Everything builds up to the movie and it's a nice tight story with a beginning and an end?

If you want I'll send you an invite to a private tracker. Just download qbit torrent if you don't want to automate it
I may, I was going to check my Amazon to see if I was going to get like a promo thing for $3 or $5 for whatever, and then maybe just binge it that way because it's easy.

I mean if it's a good show I honestly rather give them some support. Isn't that why we all buy various video games when they come out from people making quality stuff, or make certain to watch films by various directors that are actually proud of their craft and making great movies?

I appreciate it though and I might take you up on it if Amazon isn't going to throw me a bone.

Then again, fuck Disney.
