She might not be a ragebait whore, but she thought The Last Jedi was the pinnacle of Star Wars cinema. Which is worse?

like... not a single one of those is in the right spot other than ep IV in #2.

1. V
2. IV
3. R1
4. III
5. VI

VI and III interchangable rankings wise, I used to vehemently hate the prequels but the Disney era has given them a much deserved second chance

As for the rest of the rankings? Who gives a shit.

Sounds like someone needs to watch the Plinkett reviews again! Don't let shittier shit make less shitty shit seem ok.

Real talk, wasn't rape one of, if not the, original safespace word? I don't think I was even aware of the concept of trigger words until The Sixth Slave - Penny Arcade of all things became a internet flashfire.

It's always been my belief that rape was such a banned word solely because it was literally the only crime that a well off white woman would potentially suffer in her life (and who knows how many of those college 'rapes' were just beer goggles wearing off the next morning).

My personal opinion is if the point of Andor is to be "Star Actual Wars", then yes, this sort of thing has happened constantly in the real world and is entirely appropriate in that setting. At the same time, I acknowledge that from an Intellectual Property perspective, yeah, sandwiching "Rape and Genocide" directly between "Goonies Ripoff" and "Baby Yoda: The Movie!" is some pretty severe intellectual whiplash.

Then again, unless you still own Disney stock for some reason, I don't know why IP management is a bigger concern to you than the narrative you're watching at the time.

Pretty boring week with a lot of talking. So tired of Bix.

Forrest Whitaker with a tiny side plot brought more tension than the rest. lol

This season so far is 6 episodes of filler. They need to bin eps 1-11 and skip to the last one.

Awful show.

Andor is an espionage show, not an action movie. (Much like The Mandalorian, especially early on, was a western.) Even modern FX is much too expensive to make a weekly action/ war movie plausible.

If you didn't find episode 6 tense as hell, I would advise you not have it on your TV while you're scrolling on your phone.

I'm not knowledgeable about my expanded Star Wars lore, but the _actual_ Ghorman Massacre is next year / week, where Mon quits the Senate and unifies the rebellion groups, yes? I'm hoping they pull a reverse modern audiences, and it's Luthen who does that actual work, with Mon as his figurehead.

I guess I am watching a different show, I thought episodes 4-6 were excellent.
This is why Soccer fans and NFL fans are completely incompatible. One gets excited by over an hour of stalling, flopping, and only a couple points scored. The effort in this show is amazing, but the pace is glacially slow and has been since the start of season one. That works for a setting like Dune or Foundation maybe, but Starwars is supposed to have SOME amount of action and a faster pace. This is basically how the first Trek movie (The Motionless Picture) fucked things up before Wrath of Khan ignited the entire franchise again. The stories are mostly interesting and the production quality is epic, but the pacing is completely unbearable.

And yet the Marvel Netflix shows were able to be hugely successful, as well as The Expanse, Strange New Worlds, most of Stranger Things, and so on. So it is possible to do this kind of stuff without a balooning budget, at least when the Kathleen Kennedy Klan are not involved. And I think the sets they built are probably more costly than any sort of action sequence.

Doomcocksucker, that whore snarky jay. All of them are fucking trash. That jenny chick that did the review of galactic star cruiser was money though.

I hate all of them. Worthless YouTube/social media grifters. Already got lambasted for calling out that nerdrotic fag before because apparently he's got some sort of goofy story, but I really don't care.

Fuck 'em all...

There's people in this thread who should probably stick to watching Michael Bay movies.

Andor is great, A+, bring on the next arc!

Wait, what ? All of those had wildly ballooning budgets, Stranger Things is like the worst case of that to have ever existed in TV I think - it went from like 3mil/ep s1 to 30mil/ep s4.

Going to agree to disagree. I think this show is actually designed not to be all about the flashes and bangs. The story has to work for this to work out. Please see the latest release of Dune to understand how a story can be truly boring. Since I feel this has been the best thing that has come out for Star Wars in decades(Rogue One being the only other thing), I would say it is a solid success so far for me.

It involves the Star Wars universe. It is not Star Wars. This is supposed to be a long and explained out telling of the rebellion leading up to the very first movie. To continue the analogy of Football, this is a documentary about how the National Football League began. If you want lots of action and special effects, you either have to wait for the one episode, or go re-watch some of the movies. That being said, there is of course some of the "Disney Touch" in this, but it is not overwhelming.

I am enjoying the series. I do hope the last three shows make more use of the budget, as I feel we have slow burned enough....

I enjoyed these more than the first three for sure (and those were mostly fine).

I love being able to just sink into the show and let it play out at its own pace. Not every god damn thing needs to be purpose-built for an ADHD audience.

And while it seems counterintuitive for a such dialogue-heavy, action-light show, it's much more effective if you watch it LOUDLY on a robust system. There are a lot of subtle musical cues and general audio effects throughout that are easily missed otherwise. They really help to set the mood and continually build tension. And when shit does finally start popping, it's all the more dynamic and impressive.
