One thing is that the music is really, really good in ArcheAge. You can listen to the in game music all for free at theKorean Official Site. There is a free player that has all of the music in high quality.

So what is to stop someone from painting cocks all over their ships/houses? Honestly even women in skimpy underwear would get annoying after awhile. Custom dyes sounds retarded as hell in this type of game.
Here is a picture of the world map, that shows the future development zones and, most importantly, shows the vast amount of ocean that is available in the game. It is huge.
Just dinged 22 after taking a little break. Wish there was an English patch for ArcheAge Korea. If anyone knows of a good download or site, let me know. There used to be one about a year ago, but I don't think it is updated. Game is good, but it would be nice to see stats and stuff in at least broken English! Will be really nice when released in NA.

I'll try to post some pics of the top end armor/costume sets to give a flavor for the degree of fantasy / steampunkiness. It's mostly fantasy. Unfortunately, I haven't found a good site that shows all armor sets like they had for TERA. Here are some male and female human armor sets:

Also one thing I did today that is a really big help, is update my nVidia drivers. There is a new feature where nVidia tests multiple games on all their graphics cards and stores the optimal settings on the cloud. When you play game, you can select it from a list and nVidia will automatically select the best settings based on your rig. This is EXTREMELY helpful when playing a foreign game with no English patch because it automatically balances performance vs graphics for you. ArcheAge Korea is supported in the English version of the drivers so you can just update your drivers, select the game and boom, done. No messing with translations or trial and error.

Easy.NewGameWay. Takes a while to download client. No English patch though, but its WoW like quest progression, so pretty straight forward. Didn't have any issues getting to max pre patch 1.0 and havent had any issues through 22.5 post patch 1.0.

I would love to see a server without all that texture replacing sheet unless it fits the world... somehow restricted its the only thing i have heard about this game that is a turn off... someone said, whack picks of porn and stuff... i mean talk about instant immersion killing crap... that would suck.

Scott just comes in whenever the Rift livetsreams get hijacked. He says "we're working on..," & "Soon..." a lot and then takes off, hoping that everyone will be peaceful for another 6 weeks.
Been a fun last few weeks!
Went to Korea for a bunch of meetings and meetups, returned to week of budgets and a board meeting, working with the AA team on all of the things that resulted from said trip, opened a bunch of the new hire slots for this year, finished building new community team, signed a couple fun things for later this year, now in GDC prep and the large backlog of things to evaluate for that, and partners to catch up with.
Free time lately for forums (or anything outside of work, really) has been...very little.
Just realized that right now is the first time since before the trip I've been at home thinking, "Wow. Free time."
Ok, enjoyed it. Now, coffee, then back to catching up on work.
The big question is what things did he sign for Trion? What new Korean game will we see next on the radar?

Well this one would be good for a start. Only other game that looks interesting that is actually ready for a port is Blade and Soul, but that's NCsoft so not happening. Other potentially interesting stuff on the horizon is Black Desert, but I believe it's still prerelease in korea so doubt we'll see that anytime soon.

Yeah I didn't mention everything still in beta, especially since this one is like early CBT still from what I understand. Also not sure how cool it is, I think combat is not quite as good as the others. And I don't really know if Trion would work deals on games that aren't released yet, makes very little sense to me unless it's a given it'd be a massive hit, which isn't really obvious for korea stuff. I think the only big thing you'd want to get atm is Blade and Soul cause it works really well in korea and they keep releasing new content and shit(new class and new pve/pvp zone being released soon for example).
But I guess getting licenses for games early so they get ported very close to their release time in korea could be an interesting concept, so could happen.
Other game other than Bless and Black Desert that looked potentially interesting was Tree of Savior(Ragnarok like but with modern graphics, top down view, kinda action based). There's also stuff that probably can't be licensed since it's from companies that already do their own ports, such as Kingdom Under Fire 2(Blueside, a NA/EU beta is already planned for this), Lineage Eternal(NCsoft) and Maple Story 2(Nexon).
Oh one game that they could port is Dragon Sword Online, which is basically like a Blade and Soul clone.
