Maybe I’ve been playing mnm too much but I think this game would have benefitted from just going fully old school but with the pretty graphics. I like there’s lots of systems so far that I’m experimenting with and bard seems fun so far, classes are different enough that it’s keeping me going figuring out what path to take. But the questing and crap seems wholly unnecessary. I think a game like this woulda been better off just plopping you into the world with a vague storyline or class trainer person to find and then left it up to you to figure out where to go next. Running between quest npcs with boring dialogue just feels jarring from the other more enjoyable aspects

Highly recommend joining Sloan's guild, regardless if new or not. The amount of people in this game that will use you in their group until a guildie shows up is really high. Clerics > Bards > Tanks > Summoners ... seems to always be needed in the group. Clerics, Bards and Tanks out level everyone right now just because they are instantly grouped. Clerics and Bards are getting put in groups under leveled for example. Tanks to a lesser extent.

Wandered to every merchant i could find and just started buying blueprints or whatever you wanna call them, then figured out tradeskills and the farming loop, and created a full set of items, rings etc. I am digging this.

Just gotta figure out fishing and hunting now lol.

I enjoy how little they tell you to do, and how much its pissing off players

Thats not how this works. You arent getting ganked at any lvl in this game unless someone nerd rages, and then that person will most likely lose all their stuff.

Penalties for 'ganking' are very severe, and gearing out in this game is massively important. Noone wants to lose the gear they farmed for days by going corrupt and ganking people who arent flagged for pvp.

There are full pvp areas for those people to pvp without consequence, they are higher lvl spots though.

Friend I play with is playing a tank. We have just been duoing(I play a Summoner) the quest board. Almost 14th and he is 13th. At 14th we move south, so to get into the grouping areas a lot more.

We have explored around where we are. Found an isolated named that drops a pretty nice Adept level one handed axe that can be a rare. The game has a lot to explore. I do wish they would tone down the mob density in the out door areas just a little bit.

figured out hunting. Realized it’s not fully implemented yet.

fishing is what I hoped, perfect activity while on the phone with Indians at work.

haven’t found a settlement yet - am I missing something?

I’ll join the linked guild soon, I’m kind of digging being completely solo and just old manning my way through the world.

it might be all the drugs and alcohol catching up but I haven’t enjoyed an early game experience on an MMO this much since god knows when, It think it beats Lotro so maybe this goes back to the OG. Rift wasn’t great until late levels and the rest of the sea of shit I’ve played sucked

Yea in first 20 minutes I was actually more impressed than I thought I would be. Putting aside this has been in development for 10 years, this was the first time in a long time I got the same sense of exploration and seeing something in the distance, investigating, finding out its like this open world cave/dungeon that I actually had to get a group to fight my way into, grinding for a couple hours, having actual class roles. Was refreshing.
