What class are you playing caster or something? At least for melee classes you always have your e basic 3 point combo attack it has no cd

The point is you can spam your highest damage ability in Vanguard and have the expected result. For Vanguard caster there is no CD on your main highest damage nuke, just a resource limitation which doesn't come into play in a single fight. In fact this limitation doesn't come into play for several fights in a row.

There's a reason why people are saying Ashes combat is slower despite being relatively well-designed. It's not a positive or negative for me personally-- but I get why Fucker and others are saying it plays slower like a 15-20 year old game.

def seeing a lot of hate. havent tried it yet. too many games, not enough time. hope it recovers, i do miss the MMO experience. I had some fun in FF14, but the aesthetic and the basic J story is tepid.

Eh, game is nowhere near done.

But for me it does scratch a bit of an “old school” itch. Hanging out just camped and grinding mobs in a group is relaxing and fun for me. I don’t need to nonstop be pushing buttons and moving around dodging fire to enjoy a mmo.

Probably not a long term game, but I’ve had enough fun in 15 levels to warrant the purchase I think.

I'm trying it out as well. Did they add some shitty post-processing effect to the game? The whole game has this hazy non-crisp layer on the top of the visuals kind of like call of duty.

I kind of like the skill system so far. Almost no base abilities, you have to spec into everything. Not a huge variety so far but it helps with ability bloat.

I think that the level only going up to 25 is making the skill system feel a bit limiting in that you almost get every skill. There is not really a big choice that needs to be made. Most skills are obvious with perhaps a few that can be traded off for PvP or Area effect damage.

We'll *supposedly* get 2nd archetypes at lvl 25 *soon*.

I dont know what level these guys got to but by level 5 my summoner has 3 spells already. I was more worried about ability bloat as the levels increase rather than the 5 seconds i spend autoattacking between abilities at level 5. One or 2 more spells and I won't be autoattacking at all.
You will always weave auto attacks between spells, as there are finisher combos (depending on the weapon being used, 3 4 or 5 hit) that synergize with class abilities. For summoner, for example, your essence is refreshed and your hex spell cooldown decreased on every finisher. Notice 'spirit shred' says that it does not interrupt weapon combo positions, the only summoner spell that is an exception to this rule.

Makes the game have that old school auto attack non-ability spam feel while meshing it with modern systems.

scorpion fast land speed, not fastest but quite fast.

there are mounts that are faster in water, some that give you underwater breathing. Mounts (raptor) that jump 3x higher, etc.

can hunt them with the hunting skill, then someone with a high enough animal husbandry skill can attempt to turn them into a mount (50% fail chance). Also some very rare world drops from named.
