their squad vs AI mode, wasn't in beta. looks like a basic (squad) battle royale extraction mode
They really want to reach to name drop tarkov lol.
Seems like Hunt+Division to me.
Welp...this looks like a pass for me definitively now. Jeez. I had such high hopes for this one.
Maybe someone will get a 2142 server going or something if the resources allow.
no private servers at launch
2042 will have some sort of server customization in Battlefield Portals, but i have a feeling its still going to run on EA/DICE servers and you will pay a little extra per month to setup custom rules, but not really go hog wild. I think they've shown the server "manager" and its more just a few tweaks you can do to setup maps, rules, and some other stuff. Dunno if there will even be admin tools and the like in game.
Battlefield Portal is still supposed to launch with BF2042 so i just assume that means portal will run only on EA rules for the launch, and they will just rotate through popular rule sets - like knives vs pistols or no vehicle tight maps.
and their servers are filled with hackers already and they don’t police them. That alone will blow up in their faces.
I still don't see why they don't rent out servers? Isn't that just more money for them?
They had a survey for this and it was mostly targeted to the feedback from initial beta complaints, but there was one page that was great. It was something like:
"Specialists allow me to play the game in the particular style and way I want to:"
And the options were "slightly agree, moderately agree, agree, strongly agree, very strongly agree."
So kinda, yeah, yes, FUCK YES, and OH FUCK YES. Great options.
Same thing happened at work when HR polled the whole company about their efforts to increase diversity at [company]. Infuriated me.Nope, it was HOW MUCH do you AGREE. That's how they do some fucked political polling shit sometimes and go "oh, well 49% of people polled said they somehwat agree with eating babies of drug dealers" and shit like that. I doubt it was a tactic and more of hiring some analytics guy who wasn't native to the gaming scene.
Hazard zone looks like it could be fun, but most likely won't. Depends how important it is winning/getting gear out for you and if it makes you 10% better or 75% better than everyone else.
I will actually be an asshole on these forums for once
