After however many hours I've concluded this game kind of sucks and continues the downward trend since BC2.
The hitreg and netcode is so bad I don't feel like there's any skill at all involved, it's all just down to who the server likes more. Unless you have 200 ping, then you always win because the game deems you are a bullet sponge. It's such a monumental step backwards. Maybe they'll sort it out but as it stands even if the game isn't crashing, it's simply less fun to play than BF3 was. It feels way more like a modern MOH game than it does BF, with similarly shit netcode. The newest meatgrinder map Locker really exemplifies everything wrong with the game's netcode as you constantly insta die and will always run into enemies point blank where the horrible netcode just flips a coin to see who dies. There's zero satisfaction in playing this game.
It also feels like they've desperately been trying to copy CoD, with this laser rifle hold your mouse down gameplay, these maps (shit like Flood Zone, that's a Call of Duty map through and through) but CoD games have always been way more responsive because it's just a smaller scale game, it doesn't work in BF even if they pulled it off right.

I am about to invest in a new machine pretty much because of this game. Just one question, will I see the difference spending the cash on an I 7 or is the money better spend on an AMD chip and buying a 3-4 hundred dollar video card. I know i'm lazy not to look for the answer, I'm sure it is plastered all over the internet. My concern is how it pertains to this game and not over all performance.

Is this in reference to individual client crashes or server crashes? If it's the former, and the server itself doesn't crash, I just take a drink break and wait for the round to end, and still always receive my points once the battle report pops up.
If it's for server crashes, I heart you.
I really would not be concerned running this game at any sort of high quality settings whatsoever. Ask anyone who has played the recent BF series games competitively (BC2, BF3, etc.) and they'll all most likely tell you that they're running the game on low with the exception of ultra for mesh quality. Anything more starts to hinder your target acquisition and will frequently get you killed thanks to wonderful things like blinding sun glare and snow bloom.

amazon will almost certainly match the price too so don't have to wake up early and go out, digital order for $30 from multiple sources should be easy on nov 29th. also premium will probably be worth it if its 50% off then, since you'll get all the xpacs
re: new PC, definitely get a good video card no matter what (680 or higher), get a SSD, and then get the best processor you can afford. afaik Intel still kicks AMDs ass in the CPU dept.

Looks like server version R4 is soon to be released.
*Fixed the fairfight rcon commands crashing the server when used on the command line or in the startup.txt.
*Re-added the vars.unlockMode setting
*Fix for reloading of full mags in normal games (this is hardcore setting that should now no longer be used as a default when running a non-hardcore game)
*Various crash fixes.
Looks like reloading will go back to how we're used to. Was actually just starting to get used to it and be more careful about using it.

Zavod 311 is a really nice map, almost reminds me of playing STALKER. Also looks like they fixed ctd maybe? Played for a good 90 minutes on a 64 man server(no lag either) without crashing.

Reading the description it looks like the M2 Slam are also anti-infantry land mines with less damage, but two can probably still get a kill on heavy armor.

But I agree w/ someone saying they've further COD'd the game. The vehicles fucking fly/drive pathetic. The aircraft especially feel like I'm flying some shitty action game vehicle segment that is in the game for one level. Knowing wtf you were doing in BF3 for helo/jets was still there.
