The black screen change is nice because it was 1000x better in beta when spawning on a teammate didn't blind you for 5 seconds followed by instant death.

Did they ever fix high FoV being completely retarded when using iron sights or using a red dot (ie anything non-zoomed)? I would love to max out my FoV in the game but the fact that it makes using pistols damn near impossible is just stupid.

Nope, I've just gotten used to it. They should just change it back and stop penalizing folks for using higher FoV.

The fact that they're pandering to the masses with some of these balance changes is making a bad situation worse, in my opinion. Call me an elitist or whatever the hell you want, but most of the player base should bepreventedfrom having any input, seeing as most of them are too involved with their own little biased niche to think some of their slanted opinions through, and would rather make the game favor their (incredibly specific, in most cases) play style rather than learning to accommodate to the innumerable situations that the game provides. God forbid being capable with any given kit or weapon type!

Then again, this is the age of suppression, 403687374868387946 lock-on weapons, and now DMR's getting buffs. Makes me miss the good ol' BC2 days, nevermind BF2.

Going from PC to PS4 has been a very fucking steep learning curve, people seem to never stand still on console for more than a second which makes sniping a fucking HUGE pain in the arse.

Grinding LMG's was not fun at all but the MG4 makes it all worthwhile, grinding it's attachments will actually be pleasurable, it's a fucking beast.

Even with it's problems it's still great great fun even though I'm pretty crap at it.

I was an avid DMR user in bf3 and think they pale in comparison to other options in 4. Their degrading accuracy for follow up shots is pretty godawful.

You guy are the first I've heard that think they are strong choices in bf4.

Maybe because I play HC 90% of the time but DMR feel like cheating in that mode, with these changes EVERYONE will be using them. Accuracy AND damage? Yes please.

Heh, the MTAR change will effect my gameplay quite a bit. Love that little spray gun 40+ yards out. One of those blind spots that you realize after a change announcement that it really is out of wack to the other carbines distance wise.

Just got 1500th kill with the M240B. I dont see many other people using it, but I personally think it is tits.

I have barely touched the DMRs. They suck dick in softcore.

AS VAL; so good for close to close-medium range. Tap fire to victory, pretty much the same recoil management as the AEK, but finally we have a PDW worth using. I desperately need to unlock an angled grip for it, though.

Here are the stats for the Second Assault weapons, see below for how the F2000 is complete ass:

Edit: Also, the current HVT bug (E.g. making anyone eligible to be tagged as HVT granted they've obtained ONE KILL) is outrageous. Given the way HVT tagging works, it essentially means that you or your respective commander can subsequently see everyone on the enemy team granted they have one kill.

Loved the M60 and the DAOin BF3, lets hope they perform the same for me.
Relative to BF3, the M60's vertical recoil remained the same, whereas it's horizontal recoil was substantially increased/nerfed, which could be partially offset via the use of a compensator. The velocity is slightly higher, and it's first shot multiplier (FSM) is 0.5 compared to BF3's 1.5. So it should still be quite nice in short bursts, assuming you don't get jewed by horizontal sway.

I may have to re-patch and play this a bit now that I've stopped playing Planetside2. Whats a good noob setup for people who don't have jack shit unlocked?

Unlocking the first carbine is a good idea, it's solid in any kit, I recommend running silencers as a general setup.

imo play whatever you enjoy/get kills with. The unlocks come pretty quick, there are some useful things to go for:
rpg, c4, ammo box, defib etc.

What Remmy said. I run the AK5C on pretty much every setup except for Support. If I'm playing a close range Recon I'll rock a suppressed AK5C as well.

As others have stated the AK5C is a solid, versatile choice. Perhaps the ACW if you plan on engaging in CQC. Though if you're playing Assault I'd go with the 416, which you unlock early on. Recon: get to the M40, which is also early in the unlock tree.
