No team balance, just got absolutely steamrolled by a team where our top guy had 8 kills.

Sometimes it feels great other times it feels weird. Vehicles are insanely strong, massive areas with no cover and explosive spam that you can't tell what is causing it is frustrating.

Feels like the ragdoll physics are set too high. Bodies flying around from the smallest of impacts. Easy enough fix.

I do feel like it's a bit to cod like, faster and more action oriented. Makes me miss the old days when they had a commander role assigning objectives and coordinating things. A team with a commander would destroy one without and a good commander vs a bad one would be the difference between winning and losing

yeah it definitely feels like COD but with a bigger emphasis on team play, spawn on team player is a huge advantage. It is frustrating getting killed so many times by stuff you didn't even see but I assume once you git gud at the maps that'll be less of an issue.

8k q on PC but got in within a minute, 60k q on PS5 but took about 3 mins. Could play both platforms at the same time weirdly but you'd need to buy seperate copies anyways.

This looks really fun so far on console, it is a bit weirder handling loadouts with a controller (d-pad to put out med kit, ammo kit, etc) but I honestly do feel like I am playing call of duty on battlefield maps, which may turn off some people but I liked it. i'll probably end up playing on PS5, kbm hurts my hands after a while.

It sorta reminds me of BF4 but way faster respawns, I don't like the "ghost of the enemy that killed you" thing but I assume they will tweak that a bit, and loadouts are a bit vanilla but good modes, visuals, and so far haven't really hit any bugs. Pretty impressive.

The CoD aspect is pushing me away, I'm sure they are trying to chase both crowds but that ruins it for me. I was never a CoD fan.

The hill map is dogshit.

Had to turn on secure boot, tried their guide. My secure boot was on like custom/custom for type and on/off. Set to UEFI even though I already had and "standard"

Game launching in a white square window with black center and doing nothing....

I'm having a ton of fun with it, I've been tank busting all day. Engineer weapons and level perks are cool.

My complaints so far are:

Pax Armata uniforms are obviously lazy reskins of 2042 specialist uniforms, they really need something else. The white boxes that say what class someone is are totally unnecessary.

I don't like the sliding shit, but I haven't been having any movement issues not using it. It's just super gay.

Some of the UI colors/styles need to go. Anything closely resembling that dumpster fire of 2042 shouldn't be there.

Assault's Adrenaline shot is way too much of a CoD/Warzone knockoff

Way too quick charging on defbis for those zap kills, it's almost as fast as a knife

Matchmaking system balancing fucking sucks right now

What I'm liking:

Assault's supply bags doing both ammo and health is making a lot of sense

The closed weapon system needs to stay

tanks feel pretty grounded, I'm liking being inside an Abrams and Bradley.

Movement (except sliding) feels good

Bugs I've had: quit to menu button not working, ragdoll needs to calm down, black triangles flashing on the screen

It's fine. Closer to BF3/BF4, but I don't get the mega battle war feeling that those games had. A lot of it could be the restricted maps we have.

TTK is probably where it should be. Fast for close range shotgun/smg, medium for AR/LMG, but shotgun/SMG dropoff is as abysmal as it should be. Sniping is a pain in the dick if you don't have teammates marking because your glare is so obnoxious you're immediately a target. I was LMGing guys at 200m to death who were trying to snipe and killing them more than they were killing me.

Probably should restrict class weapons or there's not much reason to not be Support outside of destroying vehicles with Engineer. VERY easy to destroy heli/jets at the moment. Bait the chaff, wait, lock on, fire. With the current Engineer subclass we have (yeah there's subclasses we only half one option) you get 4 rockets which if you play it right is 4 dead choppers.

Lots of bugs. Infinite loading screen, getting stuck, disco lights, no-reg on guns, no-reg on rockets, items/classes switching themselves, deploy bug where you can't actually deploy, and audio works but only within 5m or so for footsteps. Maybe that's intended, but that's insta-gib range for smg shotgunners. Probably a few more bugs I can't remember, but MOST of this shit super hilariously were bugs present in 2042 beta. Literally 1:1 bugs.

Speaking of some QoL that's no brainer shit like being able to mod your loadout while waiting for a match AFTER a match is missing. So you have to leave queue and go mess with stuff or go into the next game and wast 30 seconds at the start of the match fucking around with your classes/guns. It IS nice you can mod things in game unlike the original 2042 launch.

I don't know, overall this is just "Another Battlefield". People can take that as they want. I'll probably buy it, but it doesn't feel like some golden version of BF3/BF4 everyone wanted. It just feels a continuation of that game with smaller maps for a faster CoD like feel which I don't particularly like.

Like I said, definitely try the open betas if you're on the fence. Probably worth it if you were a big BF fan. IIRC with 2024 I think they DID make some changes between closed beta and open beta, so hopefully that happens.
