This. Every time I checked it out it never looked like the kind of place I would want to hang out or associate with. Loser town is accurate, just a bunch of total losers and trolls hanging out there. The subs are dead and the main forum is just full of shitposting.

This isn't the most active forum but it's active enough to be interesting to browse and have some good discussions and threads. Forums are basically dead all over outside of reddit anyways, so going here feels like seeking quality over quantity.

I didn't keep up with the newmisc being set up, I just remember some countdown/progress bar or something, but this is, what, the third attempt?

Why has no one learned yet to gatekeep the degenerate retards and send them packing to reddit if they want to be faggots.

It sucks that there are some genuinely good posters at the other sites, but it's not worth dealing with the morons who didn't belong in the original misc, never mind the attempted revivals.

This. The boyos can't even be boyos anymore because those ass munchers want to dox every one. So all those cool, fun threads, thing of the past. Look I miss my rep power and messing with retards as much as the next guy, but that shit is over and I don't think any of them realize it.

That said, I'll also add C Coal Man here, was watching some Stellar Blade gameplay and thought it looked super fun, so I checked to see if it was available on XBone and............................it's not even available on any XBox console, only PS and PC lmfaooooooooooooo

So MS is giving their fukkin games away, but there's nothing on XBox and Halo has been dead for 13 fukkin years. LOL If Microshaft wasn't so rich, they would've gone under a long time ago. Guess my shitty XBone is going to stay in its box in storage. Probably been in there for a couple years now, if not longer. Also not buying a new console any time soon, MS has the audacity to raise prices on their undesirable console due to lack of games, think I'll just keep my money.

At this point there is only two real options: PS5 or PC. Xbox is basically going full retard right now and they apparently have nothing for you if you aren't someone who is all about their Gamepass Ultimate subscription. PC is definitely the no bullshit direction but it's also by far the most expensive to get into. I can tell why some people are just checking out of today's gaming industry, they're always trying to rip everyone off and AAA studios are apparently full of rainbow haired women and other DEI hires coming up with the worst ideas now. Seems like a lot of people are happier just playing emulated retro games.

Yeah I never used Gamepass and honestly don't think I ever will. I get the appeal that people see in it, but it goes back to the you don't own anything, you're just renting concept. No physical, digital rental. I do think a lot of people are checking out, myself included. Any time I see a game that I actually find appealing, which is rare, there's always something that makes me decide not to buy, or some other issue, like the one we're discussing. Stellar Blade: No availability on XBone and even then if I were to buy a series X for example, they just jacked up their prices following Nintendo's idiocy and greed.

This. That newmisc place is just all of the worst elements of the final 5 years of the real misc's existence, rebooted with none of what actually made the misc worth checking out in the first place. Anyone who is actively posting there is simply suffering from an immense addiction issue they had with the misc that was so bad that even the misc ending couldn't end their addictions. It was one thing when we were all still grasping at the straws of what used to be when the actual misc was still around, but to still be that obsessed with it over half a year after it ended, I just don't understand.

Oh yeah, it's easily a few grand a year to order out for delivery meals like that several times a week. After the various fees and tips added onto the base price of the meals, you're looking at spending easily $20 bucks a meal probably. Especially since most of the time when someone goes to the lengths of ordering out for delivery that isn't cheap pizza, they want to opt for something better than the most dirt cheap items on the menus. Figure that's like $3k a year assuming a few of the meals stay south of $20.

Then add in the daily weekday stops for coffee to Starbucks/Dunkin' Donuts/etc. coffee shops, because folks just can't go without their precious coffees. And they certainly can't be asked to opt for something like gas station coffees (because just lol at brewing your own coffee at home for pennies on the dollar compared to shops, right?) that can be quickly done up by the individual just as well as the dedicated coffee shops, but for 1/5th of the price. Between the coffee drinks themselves, the occasional food items added, and picking up additional drinks for others, that's like another $3k+ a year right there.

So what we then end up with is a lot of folks spending like $6k+ per year just on lunches and coffees alone. Probably north of $10k /year after factoring in other order outs or sit-down places for dinners, or breakfast runs. Then again, the misc was always known for being full of dudes claiming to be retired to the golf courses and yachts by their 40's while laughing at the idea of someone feeling like it was worth it to try limiting spending on things like eating out, so it was always a discussion in futility anyway.

Dang man, you took the words right out of my mouth. It was fun while lasted, especially before the last few years of it came around. Bs'ing with people there was some serious fun at times back in the day. But if we're being even halfway honest, the place was being completely ruined for the types of reasons you cited. It had been total dump on life support for years already by the time the plug finally got pulled.

As much as I've wondered about a select few guys I used to like bs'ing with there have been up to since it ended, I never really understood why some of them couldn't accept that it was over. There never was any sense in trying to create a revival of it, imo. The misc was the epitome of a place that one simply needed to let go of once the cord got yanked. And as much as I enjoyed bs'ing with people, rep power antics, and so forth, it was long since time to have moved on by the time it officially ended. The ending was kind of a breath of fresh air, to tell you the truth. Some people were just never able to accept that, which I guess explains why they're still clinging to the ancient past that was a misc actually worthwhile of checking out.

Even the real misc wasn't legitimately worth sticking around for during the last few years of it lol. The misc started to genuinely suck way back in like 2017, and even somewhat earlier than that to an extent as well. Back then, the reasons it sucked were different, but a lot of good members fell off because of it, also hurting the 2020's along with it. The 2020's misc was honestly just a wild clusterfuck that had no one who mattered left to care to keep it somewhat in line anymore. Not sure what about that made anyone want to continue the obession with it when it was officially over.
