Yeah. I don't want the long term shit that comes with running. Granted my cardio I've done in the past has been on a treadmill. I just don't wanna run outside in 90 degree weather. Maybe biking would make it worthwhile tho.
I prefer it, though it takes more "room" to build up the same heart-rate. You can always get a trainer+Zwift or even rollers if you don't want to be moving around.
And if you want to destroy your body cycling, just git gud and do either of these: Dirty Kanza or The Route | Tour Divide

Digging down the step up, decided the lip needs more speed so we putting in the work to level the transition instead of up hill the whole way.

So it worked but barely had enough time out the berm to get straight before hitting the lip so I filled it all in again to pack it and moved it all about 7 feet forward. Then two of us shaped and made it bigger. Now you can run back up the hill with no cranks. Stoke is high we might have this done before summer comes in full swing.

The line now shoots you back up the hill and into the next part, that goes back down the hill. Starting with 13 foot gap but pretty sure that is far too narrow for the speed. Fucking stoked at the progress though, hope to send this one this weekend if the rain stays away. Two guys all spade work in about 8 hours of digging over two days. Vid of the line so far.

Found this old specialized and a Cannondale. Prob 20 years old. Worth fixing up? Really don't wanna blow a ton of money on an all new bike.

Nope, never worth fixing up an old bike unless you have sentimental attachment or into old bikes. Before you know it you will have spent the same amount for a better condition(newer) used bike. What about do you live? I can give you some examples of better choices, also what is your budget?

Can we do sub $600. Florida, no hills, mostly will be used on pavement. Just need something to get a lil exercise on, doesn't need to be insane.

Had the crew from down the way show up, all long time riders and diggers. They were beyond stoked with how this place rides, which was surprising to me because they hit HUGE lines all day. They enjoyed the tech and loved the berm. Half way through they all pitched in to make the next part better.

How do you guys feel about bears when riding?

Was doing a solo ride this morning on some single track about 10 miles into the woods. I turned a blind corner and nearly crashed into a black bear and her 2 cubs. They ran off crashing into the woods as black bears usually do but it really freaked me the fuck out.

Bears and coyotees def spice up my rides, especially the climbs. At night hard to tell exactly whats lurking noisyly in the brush..... nothing like a fooking bear or deer darting in the brush right beside you to spike that adrenaline and trubo kick the legs into overdrive on a steep climb. I do evening and night rides a lot and see lots of stuff in the brush at the side of the road. This year bike traffic is phenomenal and with the car traffic so low all the bears are feeling quite safe just wandering around, thankfully fat and well fed heh.

Last week on a steep descent near a local ski hill I split up a bear and her 2 cubs: one cub was already across and scrambling up a steep slope with its mom but the second was stuck right smack dab in middle of road, circling and panicking, undecided whether to brave crossing the road to join em or turn back. Fun stuff. I stick to road cycling tho, would never try bush trails except in a group.

I got a whistle... But honestly, while bears are returning to CT, its still nearly unheard of. I also tend to stick to roads or rail trails.

leisurely ride with the parents on East Bay path, Providence today. Blackstone river valley path was closed for road work.

@Mist Bike ride! lets go! outside!

I ordered me a Rambo 750 G3 bike from Costo for $2k. The motor isn't in the rear wheel so I hope it doesn't suck. No fork suspension but it can't be any rougher than my current cheapo Trek, but I can add a suspension seat later if need be.

It looks like it'll be sweet on the trails even on windy days. I hadn't even considered a bike for hunting until I was researching ebikes. I occasionally go prairie dog hunting shooting with my AR15 and this will let me have a lot more fun. They make small trailers for these too so you can haul a buck a long ways too, though I don't do much deer hunting. These are legal in public hunting lands too for Pheasant which could be amazing as a lot of the public hunting lands I've been on have been terrible, a lot of walking with very few spots where pheasants might actually be.

Hah, their corp office is a few miles away from where I work. Any idea who makes the base frame?
