Man that's a huge gap. Can't critics just enjoy a popcorn flick? Or do they need a Mexican tranny with down syndrome to be a good flick? I honestly come here before seeing a movie most times. I know I will get some effeminate or woke is broke reviews...But on the whole dudes are pretty much in line with my thoughts.

I like how he emphasized AUDIENCE SCORE.

I think this movie will have a nice second wave in theaters now that people see it as being a bit anti-establishment. I'll definitely go see it this week just to support it.

it's really not anti-establishment, though. the entire inciting element is about white colonizers. i definitely eye-rolled through the entire first part of the movie until black adam shows up and puts the hurt on everyone. it was pretty fun from that point on, despite having plenty of pacing issues.

Critics give quite a number of popcorn flicks good reviews. Tons of MCU films, wick films, top gun, shit even disaster porn like Greenland got 78% (though honestly it was solid); Shazam got a 90% RT. It's possible for Black Adam to be a mediocre comic book film that doesn't bring anything fresh instead of a new fight in the culture war.

they werent all white colonizers, it was a mix. the internet gang leader was one of the locals.

Ya the mercenaries were a mix of almost every race, some women, the leader was a local. Theres cheese with the kid and atom smasher (which was fine, like someone said it felt like 90s wholesome cheese), but no wokeness at all as far as I remember.

i'm aware of the racial diversity, but i'm pretty sure the leader/antagonist wasn't REALLY the leader, or at least, wasn't always, since they mentioned that intergang has been occupying khandaq for 27 years. also, the kid calls intergang white colonizers in his silly diversion in the beginning.

we only have what was shown in the movie. the local guy was the ringleader. there wasnt anyone he answered to. he also said he's the last descendant of the Khandaq king. maybe he took over the family business of mining Eternium to make speederbikes. nothing was shown to contradict or confirm that. so he's the leader? the Internet Gang wasnt all white. so stupid kid is stupid.

Sure, I'm using information that the movie didn't show, but realistically implied. I don't know how old Ishmael was but I assume he was less than mid 40's. The actor is 39 but age is a little flexible. Subtract 27 from 40 and you get 13, so no way he was in any form of leadership when the occupation started.
I could also be misremembering, but I got the impression that he was at least close enough the the family to be considered like an uncle, but maybe that was the other guy? I can't remember.

Listen, I'm not saying the movie was woke anti-colonizing propaganda. I'm just saying that the movie does make that claim early on, and then calls out hawkman for the same mentality.

I went in with zero idea and my immediate thought it was some long arc tie in.

Still have no idea. I liked black Adam for what it’s worth. Definitely don’t want to watch Shazam 2 even though 1 was better than I thought.

my newb ass thought black Adam was a marvel movie.

the movie appears to have made several logical errors. its a superhero movie. dumb shit has to happen so we can have supers fighting each other. The MCU is very guilty of this as well. i believe there were reshoots of this movie. Zaslav supposedly wanted changes made and this could be a botched result of one thing switched for another, but done sloppily.
