Worth it - I am however waiting for everything to be out for DLC and buying a package thing that is sure to come.

They put out lots of free dlc updates. game modes. new playable characters. a few crossovers, that added new bosses.
New paid dlc however is a new map/gamemode. I've not played it myself yet. but,imho it almost looks like it could be called a sequal, if not just expac. simons quest featuring Dominque in hell. day/night. towns. dungeons.

not a metroidvania, its castlevania 2.
this is CLASSIC MODE. meaning it uses the classic mode jump/attack physics. aka like old school castlevania. one height/distance jump. no air adjust. etc. much slower gameplay.
