Didnt they "pause" development to work on a side game a few years ago that was suppose some how help development of CU?Store and website still up. Is this still being developed? Totally forgot about this game until saw it mentioned somewhere.

They still send out weekly/monthly updates but still no substantial info or anything resembling enough of a game to dive in. The UI is still confusing and looks like something from the 90s. This should be in beta and playable at this point, I feel dirty for supporting them.

Glad to see they are making progress. They have been silent for quite a while. Lot of people pissed at them, but I think that's part of the reason they went dark.
Camelot, Star Citizen, Pantheon, and even LoL's mmo have taken way more time than anyone expected. Making MMO"s is hard I guess.

They took all the money from the Kickstarter for the game and decided to make another game with it and just basically stopped working on this one.

I'd guess the reason for the "leap" in progress is because they did some market analysis on Pantheon EA and assessed how well Pantheon sold against what they can potentially do with the DAOC/WAR legacy behind them.
The timing is too convenient this year to suddenly release a very early announcement and trailer and new PR push for Camelot Unchained. I guarantee there is some FOMO "Fuck it why can't we EA this thing too?"
Cryptobros want a return on their investment.
The pressure from on-boarding cryptobro investors is exactly why this is headed to EA as soon as possible.
One thing they need to get right that Pantheon did is no crashes or major bugs.
Despite having no content and playing like a demo, Pantheon systems are without bugs or crashes. Complete stability-- and even a piece of shit EA could sell a few 100k boxes.
Mark Jacobs better be paying attention to that part.
