Antman and the Wasp is fun but stupid. The villain is dumb, the twist was dumb, and in general the movie was dumb...

But it was fun, the cast has great chemistry and everyone feels like they are having fun. There is good humour and good action, it’s a rollercoaster ride and never really seems to try and be anything more.

It’s not great, but it is pretty good. Also, I have a thing for Kate from lost. She purdy.

Yeah this was decent. It's about on par with Thor 3 for me. Forgettable and a very simple plot that you can skip sum up in two sentences with regards to the bigger plot, but it feels like a movie people enjoyed making.

The acting was definitely hit or miss.

Just saw this. Larson was utterly forgettable. I was shocked how much this movie retconned but I guess that stays true to comic books. heh The cat was fucking retarded but it's a Girl Power movie so of course they had to include a cat. Mar-Vell's sex change annoyed me but it annoys me whenever they change a character in a major way like that. "I'm Just a Girl" scene. Seriously? Jesus what a weak ass pussy she is. Overall I'd give it a 5/10. This and Black Panther go hand in hand in mediocrity. Won't ever watch either again.

People have commented on how it's overkill that it's playing on so many screens (9, 910, 940, etc). When we got to the theatre the other day the ticket guy was like, "captain marvel at 9. $12.50 please" I made a joke about it being that obvious and he just shrugged. "There's nothing else to see"

Black Panzy was a girl power movie, too. At least judging by his outfit at the Oscars.

Watched Antman and the Wasp on Netflix last night. No expectations going in and it was better than Thor 1&2, Black Panther, Iron Man 2&3, Dr. Strange, and Spiderman. I haven't seen this yet but the peeps saying it was on par with Thor 2 make me think that it is below Antman and the Wasp also. Hilarious.

I must be the only person that liked Dr Strange. IM3 was cringeworthy beyond belief. Ironspiderman was kinda dumb.

I also quite enjoyed Dr. Strange. Next to IM1 is probably my favorite standalone film (not including Guardians).

IM3 is decent enough if viewed as a movie isolated from the MCU. Could have been a lot better, but the villain was handled terribly, and Ironman being disorderly reminds me of the Enterprise having issues in the original Trek movies - it feels out of place, even if it suits the story. Positioning Tony Stark as someone who fucks up under pressure went against his character from the first two films. The "experimental" aspect was a bit heavy and forced to fit the mold of the story. Stark saying he's gonna kick their ass when his suit arrives was done for laughs, but left fault on his inability to create something perfectly fit for the situation, again, goes against who he has been established as a character. And the stupid kid from Jurassic Park World. Pepper Potts being ridiculously violent was a nice change of pace for her character, shame it didn't impact her in any way after that.

I feel like the main reason Dr Strange is underrated because it wasn't a very original performance by Cumberbatch, he was basically just a diet Dr House but with magic and the brilliant asshole doctor shtick is beyond played out. Even if that's a faithful recreation of Dr Strange's attitude from the comics, it was kinda tiresome. That aside it still had fantastic visual effects and excellent performances from Swinton, Ejiofor, and Mikkelsen.

Dr Strange would have been a much better movie if they gave the screentime allocated to his interactions with the female doctor to fleshing out Mad's villain character.

Pill no one wants to swallow is a lot of the MCU movies are bad and the universe as a whole has been by a handful of movies. Hence the "as a marvel movie" when people rate them or critique them.

When your highs are so high (Avengers, Infinity War, Winter Soldier), even your better than average works are looked at as subpar (Civil War, Ant Man, Dr. Strange), and your lows are attrociously and unforgiveably abysmal (Black Panther, Thor 2).

i loved WInter Soldier, Avengers, Thor 3 and Infinity War, i liked Civil War, Im3, Homecoming and GotG, Iron Man grew on me over time, but the rest are just ok to terrible.if they stopped at End Gamne i would be totally fine with that. if Captai Marvel really is the new face of the MCU as Feige has said several times, then its going to be the end for me anyway. with Cap, IM and Thor leaving they will have to spend another ten years rebuilding and its just going to get woker and woker. hard pass.

Infinity War happened between Black Panther and Captain Marvel. Even if the next standalone film preached red letter socialism, what follows it will be the best in cinematographic history.
