Again, blowing out over-matched opponents has no bearing on ability to play against other elite competition. Its just a terrible argument.

And now it seems OSU will lose in a tough way, but MSU totally earned that win and was the better team today. Miller had the game in his hands and failed. I wonder, if OSU gets picked up at large for a BCS bowl, which and who do they play?

We'll see Auburn vs FSU, and I'd put my money on Auburn in that one.

So. FSU 64 - Auburn 52!

Gilg is going to fucking hate it.

@frqkjt:

Historically blowing out over-matched opponents! It does make a difference, especially in the situation we have been talking about. Perception is everything and people perceive FSU to be that good because of just how soundly they are destroying people.

Right, FSU hasn't really played anyone. But in not playing anyone they've hung historic point differentials on the bunch of nobodies. Which is kind of what TOSU should have been doing prior to this game and while they shouldn't really dumpster MSU they should win by 14 or so to look like a legitimate 24 win in a row title contending team.
FSU has a great win over Clemson...which would have been near the top of the Big Ten's football landfill this season. But yes, the ACC is not a great conference. All you can ask FSU to do there is dominate their schedule...and they did exactly that.

It's a pointless discussion now...Ohio State is graciously stepping aside for Auburn to play for it all.

Our coach is a member of the darkside, so I have pretty much accepted that waving your arm in a circle and yelling "FASTER FASTER FASTER" is an important strategic component of modern offensive football.

I think FSU rolls.

Yah, that is what I was saying. We're a basketball conference anyway now. I think I need to go take a shower after typing that.

All that talk leading up to the game about being undefeated and then they didn't take care of business.

So how far down does OSU fall?

'Perception' means nothing on the field against other elite competition. Just because you can beat up on a little guy doesn't mean shit about your ability to take on someone your own size, regardless of how you are perceived by others.

You are aware that this discussion is all in the context of who deserves to be playing in the championship game if TOSU had won tonight? Perception is the only thing in that situation, and that is the reason that people were shit talking TOSU and wanting to bump Auburn over them if they won the SEC title game. Whereas all you hear about FSU with a similar SoS is how potent their game is and that their QB is almost a lock for the Heisman.
