True. Indie devs can't compete with dick sucking tentacle mmo porn.

So many niche MMOs. Will be interesting to see how many make it to launch, and how many survive.

Ussually, it goes like this:

The Author has an idea. It's captivating, awesome, destined to push the shit in to EverQuest and all the other classic MMORPG's. It will have a sandbox, dynamic open world stuff, tons of playable races and classes, lots of skills and blablabla.. estimated time to completion - 2021

But then comes a spider, The Publisher, who wants the game to drop the dynamic sandbox open world, only wants 5 playable classes and races, limited skills and wants it to be out by Christmas 2016. Or we pull your funding.

The outcome is an MMO which is but a shadow of it's former (original) glory, who doesn't actually satisfy anyone and gets an average score of 3.1/10 (except in places where The Publisher bribed the people trying it and it gets 9/10).

Sounds like a lot of ideas that have been there for other MMOs... none of which ever make it to the end product.

Might be some news coming up on the 29th. They are motoring towards a Kickstarter announcement, and have a new website about to pop.

No, just spend a lot of time in their IRC and the game director hangs out there a lot, and he floats some ideas/test images, etc.

Just a big fan of the virtual world/sandbox side of things so try and pay close attention to games in that mold... !

Early look teaser video.... Kickstarter coming in May. And for you cynics, you should read up a bit before dismissing this one on a screenshot. It has some very innovative features...

I believe they are using the Unreal engine.

They are releasing more screens now, building up to the PAX showing and then eventually the Kickstarter.

Sounds great, but the death penalty is worse than EQ's.
