is it like the similar game where the kids are in school? I never could get into those either. Cannot recall the names.
It's from the same developers and uses the same type of calendar system. But it's not kids on a school anymore. The previous games were called Persona

Only works on attacks :(

Id of also prefered an option to not have active defense, but so much of the game is balanced on it i guess
parry is the git gud part of the game

if you really suck, just spam dodge

Yea all that isnt all that important to a lot of jrpg players. Some times making tactical chocies is enough.

But the game doesnt have innate avoidance stats so it would get weird i guess

Finally got the plat. Ascension was the last holdout for a week or so. I was trying it a couple of times per day until I got it.

if you want to gift the deluxe edition to a friend/relative gamestop is gonna be reprinting it with a release of 10/31, has steelbook and an art book (plus game) for $70

its hard not to compare other games now to this, like i'm playing star wars outlaws (yeah its not great but i enjoy the world) but man it has so much shitty inventory management and i really miss how clean clair was without filling your inventory with garbage you have to constantly sell off.

Just started this last night on PC. Loving it so far but getting some weird shit in cutscenes. It's super blurry and sometimes pixelated looking. Running a 9800x3d/9070xt so it's not my hardware, though it could be this is just optimized for Nvidia.

Also the cutscenes have a lot of micro stuttering. During cutscenes my GPU is barely being utilized so wonder if that's related.

Anyone experience this? I tried some reddit solutions but nothing so far.

I'm probably not going to finish this. don't love the story in act 3, not really compelled to finish via that. gameplay is dragging... im not really min/maxing my pictos/lumina anymore, or moving skills around. its all set in place.

and monster train 2 pulled me in fierce.

I think the final thoughts is actually, Rogue trader is honestly "worse" for the party getting way too overpowered. its mostly because that is more on rails, you are always fighting fights within the correct order. here, the game does make some late game bosses open to you early, literally in act 2. you can try sprong, the head, golgra, etc in act 2, doing 9999 damage capped. And then even in act 3 itself. "early" act bosses might have 2 million hp, while late game ones 54 million iirc? so for all the talk of one shotting bosses, even when set up correctly, thats pretty rare, unless you follow the perfect correct boss order. otherwise nope, lots of dying to missing parries and learning timing. (unless defense stacking is viable, never really tried that too much..) RT however, I literally did not die after Aurora. (been awhile, not even sure I died to that fight.) and By act 2, no fight lasted past past turn 1, and few even let my entire party get a turn.

If you're already in act 3, you're basically done. Just go finish the shit up, it'll probably take an hour or two (if that). Act 3's story is incredibly short. It's just the non-mandatory stuff that you can dick around with forever. You don't need any additional grinding to finish the story either.

Agreed, I just bee-lined to the end of the main quest around mid 40s or so and didnt have too much trouble. (Playing on the mid difficulty, not easy but not expert)

I'll go and finish up the optional stuff at some point, but overall the story was pretty damned good.....at least I enjoyed it. Getting pretty decent at parrying as well, so some fights were a lot shorter than I expected. Simon will be the true test; My plan is not to one shot build him to death, but I will if I get frustrated enough, lol.

Yeah Act 3 fell off for me as well. I appreciate an open world letting me go where I want, but after 3 bosses / fights in a row that I just stood no chance with, I finished the game in probably an hour or two after Act 3 started.

That manor music is a banger. It's not in the official Spotify/Tidal soundtrack though, the composer said he had bigger plans for it.

Good luck parrying Simon. That sounds like a blast.

The point when I got to phase 3 and realised I'd have to finish him off with my B team who I'd never used before was when I decided to build a 1 shot team.
