Rivals week this year made me miss the A&M game. I want it back. It sucks playing against a team I don't really care about when everybody else is having badass throw downs. Also, fuck playing on thanksgiving. Move it back to Friday.

Pelini fired at Nebraska after breaking Tom Osbornes record for wins in a coaches first 7 years at Nebraska. Pelini went 67-27 in 7 years. Good luck finding a better option.

Pelini was like a major asshole tho.

Far as the bama game. Really proud of the red zone D. Sims stepped it up when he would have been benched (it would have been for the rest of the season...dont doubt that.) We still have a shit secondary...big shock. Auburn needed a Fairley to stop TJ Yeldon. They do not have a Fairley. We should have been airing it out since the first quarter. Like the win.

Missouri is going to need some receivers that can actually catch to have any shot against Alabama next week. Our QB Mauk is incredibly accurate on deep passes, against Arkansas he hit receivers right in the hands, in-stride multiple times 30-40 yards downfield and our recievers stone-handed the ball and dropped every one of them. I'd actually say our QB is better at throwing a pass 20+ yards than he is on short passes, he has no soft touch for a swing pass out of the backfield or a 5 yard route, but he can hit bombs all day long. Wish we had even one of the top 3 receivers off of our team from last year, they were all huge with great hands, but we're rolling with our #4 and #5 guys from last year as our #1 and #2 guys this year, and they just aren't great, they're decent, but not great.

Bama's dbs have struggled against mobile qbs for quite some time - Eddie Jackson (#4) was getting torched consistently in the first half. I can't understand playing press coverage only to bail out of it at the snap and not even try to knock the receiver off in his timing or route. He was constantly letting his guy run by him and Marshall has proven time and again he has good touch on deep balls. I think he wants to look for the qb, but haven't gone back to see what the deal was. Sylve played far better in his place.

I've always likened playing against Malzahn's offense to a tennis match - you'd better hold serve and just get a couple of breaks on defense to stay out in front. I'm just happy to come away with a win after the shitastic way we played the first 35 mins of the game - well, crazy start of the game for both teams.

Pelini could go to Florida and Muschamp to Nebraska. They could get the athletic department at LSU to broker the deal lol.

Nebraska fans are almost as delusional as Georgia fans.

Although I did see the stat today that Pelini was something like 44-2 against teams under .500, and 23-25 against teams with winnings records. That's not so good.

Think he also has the same amount of division conference championships than Mark Richt since 2010 and beat Georgia in the Gator Bowl last year. Almost like twin football programs, well not really since Nebraska has all those championships and Georgia has two. I don't count the one in 1942 since it was split with Ohio St and Army had a lot of good players go to WWII.
(I should have said they had a lot of players ask to leave early to prepare for war. Of course the changes in the draft law to allow Football players not to be deployed did help a lot since they openly recruited the best players with the promise of no war time. This enabling Army to have the best football around. So I was half wrong, half correct heh)

I honestly don't put any stock into any championships won in the WW2 era or before. College football is not the same sport now as it was then. The days are long gone of the service academies and ivy league schools being dominant programs. It's kind of like talking about pitching records from the dead-ball era of baseball back in the early 1900s and late 1800s. It just isn't the same sport.

I'll have to find the video of the LSU/Alabama game where all 5 yard penalties for Bama were marked off as 6 yards.
