The network is off to a great start.. I mean a game between the two power houses Vandy and Temple...

That game might be more competitive.
I'm not big on A&M this year. I don't know how almost everyone has them ranked in the top 20. They had 4 losses last year with Manziel bailing their asses out from the shitty, shitty defense that they have. I honestly think they'll be lucky to get to 7-5 this year.

That's honestly the ONLY reason I can see that the SEC network put A&M vs SC on at 5pm. They wanted that to be remembered as the first ever SEC network game. Not Vandy/Temple

For fuck's sake USC, get your shit together. It amazes me this conference gets so much pub for amazing defense and the entire league is brought to its knees by a single Big 12 offense. If A&M ever builds a defense, all of these old man style SEC teams are fucked.

Only took 8 minutes of the first quarter of the first game of the season for the 'SEC defense' posts to start. I love football season!

While SC can't stop A&M, the aggies are countering by employing their "break but don't bend" defense. SCs most consistent play is the deep bomb. Its either been a TD or PI every time

Alright, we're only a couple Georgia injuries away from Mizzou taking the SEC East again, not because we're good, but because everyone else is having a down year... /sarcasm off

When your team is as bad as Purdue is, you tend to look for ties to the program and root for them quietly. That is what I do for TAMU and Sumlin. Unfortunately, I could not watch the game, but I was shocked when I saw the score last night. It's still a long season and USCe could have been a little overrated, but I definitely think TAMU is at least just as good as they were with Manziel. Now, it's time to see if they can actually get over the hump and be right there in the thick of things for the west. It will be interesting to see how the rest of it folds out in the west, that is for sure.

The SEC West will definitely be interesting this season, with A&M possibly playing spoiler for what everyone assumed was only a 3-team race between LSU, Bama, and Auburn. I honestly think Auburn takes a small step back and goes something like 9-3 this year in the regular season. They had some crazy luck last year, that can't last. And nobody has a clue what LSU and Bama have at the quarterback position, so they could be a little more upset prone than usual. Bad QB play can kill you(LSU knows this well)

On the flip side, Vanderbilt has managed to go right back into the tank pretty quickly after James Franklin leaving. They looked bad last night. They looked kansas-level bad. Looks like everyone in the SEC East can go back to counting on two sure wins every year with Kentucky and Vandy, rather than just 1.

8-4 is my guess. Bama, Georgia, LSU, and would have said Ole Miss/Miss St split, but after last night I'm more worried about A&M. We actually get LSU in a pretty good spot after three non conference and at home, but then we have Miss St, South Carolina, Ole Miss, A&M, Georgia, in a row which will be a nightmare.
