Was incredibly skeptical of Todd Grantham. But holy hell, he is continuing to build a terrific defense at Louisville. Johnson has been locked down the majority of the game, something not many teams could do.

My fears of Grantham being terrible by Georgia fans so far has been calmed. Maybe Georgia just sucks in general, only so much a coach can do when you have shitty (Georgia) players?

Also, Petrino's offense style is wearing out the Miami defense badly. Their D is huffing and puffing for air. Fucking loving this, thanks ACC!
Bad news for you then. Half of UGAs 2013 starting secondary is enrolled at Louisville.

The much more likely explanation is that Miami is bad and Charlie Strong's teachings weren't forgotten in 8 months. You blew out the same team you blew out in the bowl game. Don't get too excited.

USC - Stanford this weekend should be fun. Can't wait though the first games for each team were so laughable I don't really have a good idea how this is going to go.

Charlie Strong just suspended (rumor is dismissed) two starting offensive linemen.

For those counting at home, between suspensions, dismissals and injuries, Texas is currently down a starting QB, 3 starting lineman, 2 starting WRs, and a senior RB.

The Texas vs BYU game this weekend isn't going to be pretty. At this point Strong has definitely just said "fuck it" for this year. He's burning the house down in 1 year so that the program can hopefully recover quickly after that. This year is going to be really bad though. I'm assuming the Texas AD knew this was the plan though. He better be able to see noticeable gains though next year, hopefully he knows what he's doing.

Yeah, a lot of respect for him for doing this. Unfortunately a lot of other teams (mine included) probably wouldn't adopt the same attitude, so it puts them at a disadvantage. Just have to balance the "doing the right thing" without losing competitive edge. Easier at places like Notre Dame (grades), harder at Texas.

Eh, the defense is still pretty loaded. It will be hard to score enough points to keep up with Baylor, OU, and maybe UCLA, but Texas will be in the rest of their games.

He is building a new culture, and this is the price for letting Mack stick around long after he checked out.

Another day, another player kicked off the team by Charlie Strong. This season needs to go faster, won't have enough players suited up soon.

Really looking forward to O vs MS. Think they have shot at winning.

Should be a fun game. Msu has struggled with teams like Indiana and Nebraska that run somewhat similar offenses as Oregon.. And neither of those teams had a qb like mariota who can run and pass. Not to mention it looks like Oregon has a healthy stable of backs. I think that is a huge help against msu's defense. Running qbs don't threaten msu much... Its when they have a great back and at least an average arm that the defense starts to struggle.

On the flip side, Oregon doesn't like playing g physical teams... Msu and Stanford really aren't that similar in scheme except for being physical.. So I shy away frkm saying bcuz stanford has oregons number msu will too.. Should be a great matchup and love the fact that its not at a neutral site!

I think Oregon wins in what msu considers a shootout.. Something like 35-28.

USC vs Stanford is mind boggling. I can't tell if they are good or stupid or both.

Stanford is dominating between the 20's. They're going to end up losing though by coming away without points over and over.

Pat Hayden (USC AD) just came down to the field to complain about calls the refs were making. The same Pat Hayden that is part of the 13 person panel selecting the teams for the playoff. This panel is rife with conflicts of interest that will undoubtedly manifest themselves in the selection process. Whoever was part of putting the panel together should be fucking shot. Current ADs of powerful teams? Check. Tom fucking Osborne? Check. What a fucking disaster.
