I finally got around to doing the faction quest with Excavator boss. I cleared the quarry of all 100%, straight BDO, killing massive amounts of mobs in single blows (I'm well farmed. Chinese WoW farmers would be proud of my Mining). I finished up the percentage by going around the whole place killing everything. Couldnt figure out what to do with the three locations needed, so I kept wandering until I had the epiphany to use the swords to highlight the area. When I found the super obvious buildings to destroy - I got rid of the picker building by exploding arrows. Then used exploding barrels to kill the other two buildings. I destroyed all three buildings, but still had a red objective excavator up. When I did the swords again, the red square was still on the building I used exploding arrows on (looks like an excavator - so I associated the two and thought it was a bug (the red box still being there was a visual bug though). Especially when I saw that the hanging torch was just floating in the middle of the air.) Spent the next hour sourcing barrels with a constant respawn of Bleeding Bandits filtering in - before I went back to my earliest save (three hours before it) from where I manually saved. Did all three again, and noticed that the objective was still lit ... and realized that it was talking about THE FUCKING BOSS. /face palm. Loaded in the autosave from the other, killed the boss and moved on about my day. The ONLY satisfaction I got out of that brain dead moment was that when you kill hundreds of enemies - you get artifacts. I6 artifacts are in my inventory if that says anything....

BUT - Im highly enjoying the game. Farm up enough shit and it just falls over after you upgrade all of your equipment. I was chunking the excavator boss for ~1/5 of his HP with a heavy hit combo after stunning him. SO IF YOU REALLY HATE THE CONTROLS - you can just do the basic move set of heavy attack / light attacks while holding your target button. I think the mystery behind every door is a huge driving force. The Goblins and the Bankers looking like Juice is just icing on the cake.

Curious thing. While I was doing that, I happened upon a horse that had what appeared to be the Excavator strapped to its back, like a gold suit of armor with drills for hands. I wanted to try and kill that horse, so I chased it but there were too many mobs to get past. It ran through a big gate before I could kill it sadly. That gate was to the boss arena. Had no idea how to get in there at first, so I just climb over the wall to the side.

So I'm wondering if you can actually kill that horse, lol.

Man I'm really throwing myself into this world. I get off on deep lore in games that's probably what drew me toward TES3-5. I'm the nerd who just goes around reading books. Spent and hour catching up on my knowledge reads today.

Also does this game have a draw distance? WTF black magic is Korea doing to get game engines like this.

Hopefully it will make it better.. I tried controller and K/B mouse and controller is the lesser of the two evils for me. At least give various controller set up options or allow button remapping.

Working through the 4/5th abyss sky puzzles, enjoying that more than I thought I would based on initial preview videos. Some interesting mechanics, though falling mid puzzle is annoying. I'd recommend doing 3 and 4 soon as it gets you really close to the eastern side of the next map for easy access. This game is so strange to me, the discovery and random shit you find is so cool and interesting but a few head scratcher developer decisions hinder an otherwise wide open, strange, beautiful, compelling open world. I am really enjoying it though.

If I'm reading your reply correctly, you are pausing this developers MMO to play this game correct? If that is the case, does the MMO have the same janky controls?

I'll be playing on a PC but I prefer to use my Xbox Elite 2 controller, and if the controls are as janky as people seem to complain about I'd want to remap.

If the MMO is as janky, why do it twice , if not wtf was the reason for the new Jank ass controls?

who knows if its true/fake but if true (and kinda seems to be) its fascinating how a dumpster fire behind the scenes can still produce a pretty decent game that seems pretty well liked by a lot of people. wonder if its cuz the devs are all asian and their version of woke-shittiness would be "the game isn't perfect" vs ours "we need more fat black lesbians"
