This isn't Black Desert combat.I'd be down for that. I keep checking the Black Desert thread and I just can't force myself to go through that grindy shit again. If they could just do Black Desert combat without needing to grind hundreds of billions to fail enhancing over and over, I'd absolutely play it.
In the back of my head, I know thats probably the case. Its been in development for so long that it's bound to have had some problems somewhere along the development process. It's definitely in the "wait and see" bucket, especially since its a single player game. But when I "first" started playing BDO - I always just wanted to do the life skills shit in that game and quest. The narrative part of that world was always interesting and if it wasnt for the gearing system, I probably would have given the game more of my time. This isn't Black Desert combat.
This is their attempt at creating a "narrative driven" Dark Souls/Elden Ring. But all the reports from Black Desert players who've tested it is that the combat, engine, etc. are janky. And considering how long this game has been in development hell, I'd wait for a deep discount. Depending on how this performs, it has the chance of just kind of sinking Pearl Abyss as a company, IMO.
I am more looking forward to either Witcher 4 or Light No Fire. I am more curious about Light No Fire because it appears like the developers learned a hard and good lesson with No Man's Sky and are actually going to make a great game.
This game topic really should get moved to PCs and Console Gaming as this is no longer an MMO.

I'm imagining that they'll have some type of visitation type of system, ie. Elden Ring/Dark Soul's type system. Where people can join you, etc. Just so you can show off cosmetic_outfit_99.Anybody who thought this wasn't going to be monetized to hell and back clearly has very little experience with Pearl Abyss.
I'd have been more shocked if the game wasn't littered with MTX/P2W bullshit.
