From what I’ve seen, it’s not really a gitgud situation, it’s more like “farm a few hours and come back”. I don’t see a Malenia or Radahn here, more mmo gear score updates before beating. Why that is bothersome is it seems many bosses are locked behind huge puzzles and cutscenes which you have to replay fully before engaging again. But you know your e-peen will be impacted by this right? When you finally get around to it and you comment here that you played it, had some difficulty with some bosses, but with doing X, Y, Z you managed them, you'll be met not by praise for completing a challenging encounter with smart skill use, but with "Pfft, did that pre-nerf where HP pool was bigger, skill X, Y was bugged and Z feature didn't even work!!"
Joking aside, the difficulty mentions in the reviews makes me want it more, not less. One worry I had was that it was huge and rewarded exploration (that was mentioned in previews), but I worried that like most open world games it would become a "press X to win" in later stages. If they have not just one difficulty spike like Elden Ring (Winter area), but several. That's great.
However, if the difficulty spikes are just tied to larger HP enemies with a combination of bad controls which makes effective skill use impossible at the same time as you struggle with camera/lock on, that's not good. But from the reviews, while that is an issue, it doesn't seem like it is the only thing that makes it hard.
What nearly all the reviews mention is that it is very focused on exploration, and actually rewards it. That puts it very close to "take my money" from me.
I agree somewhat. The "come back better prepared" will work til the really late game bosses, I think, but for those late game bosses you're expected to be fully kitted out, so "gitgud" will apply. There is an item which allow instant res during a boss fight that negates having to restart from the very beginning, and from what I've seen in the reviews, they are very easy to get / stock up on. The apparent issue with that instant rez is that you can get curb stomped immediately after using it, lol; FightingCowboy mentioned this was a bug, so maybe you're supposed to have a few seconds on invuln. From what I’ve seen, it’s not really a gitgud situation, it’s more like “farm a few hours and come back”. I don't have a Jaguar and a shinny new $2500 handgun by being as lavish everywhere else.Imagine being so poor that $30-$40 matters. If you like having to wait for a year because you made shit life choices, then have fun being a year behind the rest of the world

The better argument he should make was even if it's same price in a year. It's still better to wait for things to get printed out and maybe more content. Look at how much cyber punk changed, I've owned it for ages but glad I waited to play so I have less Jank to deal with and I don't feel line deciding if I want to replay it or miss out on all the added content.
I think the only games you should play right off the bat are pure multiplayer games like arc.
Can farm. Oh yes! Locked behind cutscenes. Oh no.From what I’ve seen, it’s not really a gitgud situation, it’s more like “farm a few hours and come back”. Ignores the point about it not even being about money completely. While not everyone can afford to lavish lifestyle that goes with spending an occasional $20-$30, imagine how much money you'd save by just waiting 20 years to buy that same Jaguar.
DD2 wasn't awful tho. It could have been better, but cmon man. Get real here. You guys act as if the dollar amount is the sticking point.
You guys are potentially wasting your time on a dogshit product. You will have a lot more information in order to make an informed decision on how you spend your time if you don't buy stuff at launch.
I bet you guys bought Dragon's Dogma 2 at launch. Look at how dumb you are for doing that. Shameful. And here you are again.
Look at this poor ass bitch in here, trying to convince us he's not poor. It's also a funny thought experiment. If you waited a year for the price to drop, you'd basically have a continuous set of games you play a year later. If you don't play every game on day 1, but day 366, you still have the exact same amount of games to play. But you also have the bonus of patches and lower cost.
The only reason you wouldn't want to wait is for multiplayer games where typically the rush is the best time to play.
And I feel like Starfield is a better comparison. In fact, I had an almost identical conversation when it released. I said it looked like shit and wasn't worth the price, and then got met with a deluge of "stop being poor." Whoops, turns out I was right to wait. Because I found out that I didn't want to play it ever. $70 in my pocket and no time wasted on a crap game.
Here is a reddit thread that has the control keybinds for Controller / KB+M.
If I can use QWSE instead of WASD, and if I can use 1 2 3 for other stuff, and then swap R for F, I think I'll be good to go.

Plenty of PS5 footage has been shown yesterday/today. Here:
