Compared to the first game it absolutely was awful. Right up there with Dying Light 2 on my list of biggest day-one-purchase regrets of all time (and even after years of updates neither one is remotely on par with the previous games, nor even worth playing at all). DD2 is even more disappointing because the only thing that could have saved it was a BBL-style expansion and we know now that that's never going to happen.
Back on topic, I've still yet to see anything that changes my mind about Crimson Desert. "Wide as an ocean, deep as a puddle" was my first impression, and it's still what I expect from it even after the reviews.

Its crazy how much it must have been either optimized or hte devs actually gave a shit. Most of the settings it was just leave it on cinematic or high>medium if you wanted, at most, a few % fps increase.

Just saw an odd thing about the Abyss Artifacts. I had assumed these were "get it, use it" type items, but apparently not (or it could just be for some of them). When you get one, it has a requirement that you need to meet in order to use it, like "kill 3 mobs in under 30 seconds" or such. That system doesn't make sense given you can just go out and kill stuff to earn them (the bar to the left of the minimap is the skill point xp bar, fill it and you get an abyss point/thing).
Bought it. Skimmed some other reviews, they keep mentioning the exploration..... Open world / RPG fantasy exploration is my favorite thing. Even Gothics or the Risen games. Love them as jank as they are.
Not going to pre-load anything though. Won't be able to download it before release, and if I download the pre-load version, it will take longer to activcate than downloading it after it is released. 11 pm for release though, so doubt I will try anything tonight.

One of the first games Ive bought in a while. I'm usually a cheap skate and will bootleg (Im definitely poorer than all of you rich folk). I am fully prepared to be disappointed. Not only by the game, but my severe lack of free time to play a game that supposedly takes 100's of hours to complete. I sincerely hope Im in the office tomorrow wanting to leave early. Also, I just got the base version. Deluxe just seems.. dumb? Cosmetics in a single player game just seems like a waste. Anyone see any other reason?
My only gripe is that I wish the game had some type of player summoning or world visitation etc. I mean it has all the DRM protection they can throw on it - so it might as well be online for at least co-op or something. As I havent played a single player game since.... fk. I want to say Witcher 3. You picking this up today, or nah?

Nah, it clearly isn't ready yet. Going to treat it like owlcat games and give it more time, maybe grab it with a DLC pack if there is one.One of the first games Ive bought in a while. DD2 might be ok at a bargain bin 19.99. I can't justify 30 for an abandoned by developers cash grab that was rushed out. They promised patches and DLC, none of which are happening nor ever did.
