And I feel like Starfield is a better comparison. In fact, I had an almost identical conversation when it released. I said it looked like shit and wasn't worth the price, and then got met with a deluge of "stop being poor." Whoops, turns out I was right to wait. Because I found out that I didn't want to play it ever. $70 in my pocket and no time wasted on a crap game.

Yep, finally found the option for it. Thank fuck. I should be able to stop kicking people I want to talk too now.

Next problem, I cannot for the life of me work out how to give items to NPCs that require them for a quest. Specifically, Ore for the Rhett the Blacksmith. -- update -- you don't give the ores to him, you give them to his assistant outside of town marked with a GIANT FUCKING RED X.

God damnit.

Well, I got the game for Xbox Series X, game looks great on quality mode with HDR on. It doesn’t look as good as it does on high end pc but it’s good enough for me.

Only had a few minutes to play, only like 15 minutes or so, have to watch hockey, every game is important.

Looking forward to playing more, the little intro was interesting enough to grab me.

Curious about something. Will spoiler it, though its super early on.

Doing the Main quest, you talk to a beggar outside the Inn where you had the arm wrestling game and go down into the Sewer. For those that looked around and found a Treasure Chest, what did you get from it? Curious if its a static item or RNG. I got a plate helm. Also, there were some boxes you could pick up from the little altar by the noble lady, dont be like me and almost sell them. One of them gives you a ring.

Anyone else having an issue with it detecting an Xbox controller on PC? I cant find the option anywhere to turn it to controller from keyboard.

I also heard the game is getting nerfed in the first patch and anyone who doesn't play on release doesn't get the real experience.

Looks unreal, what a great engine they've created. A bit of pop in, and wish you could rebind controller, but looks great. I've just been running around killing shit looking to lvl up stamina.

  • In certain situations, the Abyss can be seen from the world below, resulting in slight drops in frame rate.
  • During the “Deferred Advance” quest, retrying or abandoning the Ultimate Weapon fight when Blackstar’s Health is depleted causes Blackstar’s Health to not fully recover.
  • Attempting to steal fruit at the back of a stall results in the character becoming unresponsive to controls.
  • When receiving damage while holding a tree, the character can become stuck to the tree.
  • During the Gregor, the Halberd of Carnage boss fight, if surrounding objects are destroyed at the same time the character dies, the character cannot revive and progress.
  • Under certain conditions, applied settings are not saved after restoring settings.
  • While progressing through some quests, the next objective is not automatically tracked.
  • When using FSR4 upscaling, an issue occurs in rainy environments where rain disappears, or the screen becomes blurry or distorted.

Anyone able to get their pre-order / deluxe edition items? They are supposed to be in the Supply Chest at the tent you wake up in after reaching Hernand, but its been empty.

I’m in their discord and they announced it’s a known issue and working on it.

This game is fucking fantastic so far. These reviewers are smoking crack. Controls definitely take getting used too and rebind for controller has to be coming - you can do it with keyboard and mouse. I keep hitting r stick down to run and crouch instead and A to jump and it’s X. Getting used to axion controls isn’t too bad so far.

I put Tainted Grail on my wishlist because of this forum. Doing the same with this. My backlog is huge and planned. But this was among like three games I planned to maybe get this year.

Apparently you have to keep "tapping" sprint to run on M/Kb controls. Controls/UI look fucking horrid. The UI issues I expected, since that's kind of classic PA. But BDO's combat is smooth as shit, so I have no idea why the control scheme sucks so badly.

As expected, I want to play more of it as I log off. I dont get the hate at all. Playing Xbox controller and its fairly easy to play. Cinematic is smooth as silk on my system. The precise jump Im probably using too much, but Idk if thats a complaint or a "thank god I have it" kind of thing. Only gripe I can imagine is that in the beginning of the game you're seeing some incredible combat and killing shit, and then combat drops off the face of the planet until you're done with Chapter 1 in the main quest. If you go looking for it, its there though. ... I keep getting distracted by "ooh piece of candy" type shit. So I made it fuck all very far. Games more relaxing than I would have imagined and I should probably switch my living room computer with this one so I can play on the couch.

This is like an old school single player game with modern (very modern) graphics, and outdated controls. Also have urge to stay up all night to keep discovering stuff, but am old.
