What the fuck indeed. I wish I liked that game more cause damn their fans are getting treated.
Same. I didn't buy it when it first came out because I wanted to see if it was worth a shit. The hype after the first few weeks made it sound like it was a winner, and I just kind of...didn't love it.

Played it for 21 hours and never really connected with it. Theoretically it should've been a home run for me, but something just didn't do it and I found myself bored.

wtf. i put 180 hours in and stopped like halfway through the main story to wait on all the updates to be done. wasn't expecting what will probably be another hundred hour content drop in my already depressingly large backlog.
That is how I feel, now I'll need to find time to finish the MSQ and get rdy for the DLC.... and then somehow find time to play it for however long it takes, lol.

The bright side is that if you are a variety gaming enjoyer you have probably been feasting. I can't think of the last time I was putting 100+ hours into so many games and still having fun. My backlog is like 25-30 games deep and that is basically a years worth of gaming alone to catch up on.

I stopped in disgust around chapter 9 with 139 hours. I had too many other games I wanted to play and could not for the life of me get on that damn dragon. I may have to pick up this DLC, it looks crazy.

20% off sale on PS5 right now and expansion content around the corner. My backlog is so big and GTA6 and OoT right around the corner too. I don’t know if I should jump in now or wait for it to inevitably go on sale again down the road. The exploring and freedom of the game intrigues me.

I got it when it first went on sale and have like 30 hours played already. I am still sinking a ton of time into it. It is janky as hell sometimes (like climbing through windows or over mining nodes), but the combat is fun. They somehow nailed large scale comraderie with the Greymanes. I just like running through tons of simple quests.

But the combat doesn't really have any depth, right? And by depth I mean Dark Souls / Elden Ring move sets and builds.

You certainly do not need the reflexes and coordination of Elden Ring and, while the bosses have unique moves, they are not nearly as polished as ER. Also, you can overcome skill gaps easier in Crimson Desert by using better gear and infinite food. CD has better mass battle vibes - Calphade Castle in particular was epic at night. Turning slash into a clump of 16 soldiers is oddly satisfying (no homo).
