What the fuck indeed. I wish I liked that game more cause damn their fans are getting treated.
Same. I didn't buy it when it first came out because I wanted to see if it was worth a shit. The hype after the first few weeks made it sound like it was a winner, and I just kind of...didn't love it.

Played it for 21 hours and never really connected with it. Theoretically it should've been a home run for me, but something just didn't do it and I found myself bored.

wtf. i put 180 hours in and stopped like halfway through the main story to wait on all the updates to be done. wasn't expecting what will probably be another hundred hour content drop in my already depressingly large backlog.
That is how I feel, now I'll need to find time to finish the MSQ and get rdy for the DLC.... and then somehow find time to play it for however long it takes, lol.

The bright side is that if you are a variety gaming enjoyer you have probably been feasting. I can't think of the last time I was putting 100+ hours into so many games and still having fun. My backlog is like 25-30 games deep and that is basically a years worth of gaming alone to catch up on.

I stopped in disgust around chapter 9 with 139 hours. I had too many other games I wanted to play and could not for the life of me get on that damn dragon. I may have to pick up this DLC, it looks crazy.

20% off sale on PS5 right now and expansion content around the corner. My backlog is so big and GTA6 and OoT right around the corner too. I don’t know if I should jump in now or wait for it to inevitably go on sale again down the road. The exploring and freedom of the game intrigues me.

I got it when it first went on sale and have like 30 hours played already. I am still sinking a ton of time into it. It is janky as hell sometimes (like climbing through windows or over mining nodes), but the combat is fun. They somehow nailed large scale comraderie with the Greymanes. I just like running through tons of simple quests.

But the combat doesn't really have any depth, right? And by depth I mean Dark Souls / Elden Ring move sets and builds.

You certainly do not need the reflexes and coordination of Elden Ring and, while the bosses have unique moves, they are not nearly as polished as ER. Also, you can overcome skill gaps easier in Crimson Desert by using better gear and infinite food. CD has better mass battle vibes - Calphade Castle in particular was epic at night. Turning slash into a clump of 16 soldiers is oddly satisfying (no homo).

I keep meaning to pick the game back up and do a new play through - but every time I'm reminded of the game, theyre adding something new to it that makes me want to wait until that update is out. This isnt a bad problem to have. But damn. ha

Right? I'll 100% play the dlc... when they are done with inevitable patch cycle for it, but I still have to finish off the MSQ. I'm looking forward to it.

Looks like a whole lot of content is being added with this expansion.

The Ocean content has me hyped more than anything. Though that "start gathering resources to build your ship" part brings back nightmares of building my Epheria sailboat in BDO.

There's no way it's anywhere close to even the current BDO version which is like 1/10th of the time it used to take(plus nowadays you can even just buy a ship directly on the market, although iirc not that many get sold cause it's kinda not worth the max price with the stupid crafting time and all the workshop you need to waste on it but it's been a while since I played).

The boat stuff looks nice, it seems there's some form of bartering, I wonder if it'll be like BDO with the multiple tiers, different weights, randomly generated requests and all that, I found bartering quite fun in BDO and spent a few weeks mostly just doing that(and sailing daillies obviously because you HAVE to do them).

I'm sure it will be less than rebuilding that northern town/moving the camp. I enjoyed using the ship, up until they added the Currents system to BDO, then I just stopped, lol. Never got back into it even after they revamped sailing dailies and made all the near coast waters equal ocean waters.
